Why do trump supporters think they will soon have this extra money in their pockets?

There is talk of tariffs. So it seems some trump supporters think that eventually all this money will come back to America and somehow we will all be richer.

Like at first things will hurt but then get better.

Do they not realize that if America does see this magic boost of money, the rich are going to keep it for themselves?

Imagine this family at the dinner table having this feast, and there is the pitiful doggy staring at everyone eating, hoping that maybe morsel will somehow fall in his direction.

The family is - Musk, Trump, CEOs, and shareholders. The pitiful doggy is - hopeful trump supporters.
The doggy thinks, "Everyone is eating so good, when will I get mine?" Then someone says, "GO AWAY!" 🐶

I hate to tell you but any extra profits are not going to "trickle down".
I know that good ol trump, the same guy who in 2015, said he would build some wall, made it sound like that but nOoOoOo...

Somebody will ask for sources. Well, just common sense. My gut feeling.

I just would like to know where trump supporters get this wild idea that the rich class is going to share the wealth?

Most of them don't understand how tariffs work, probably because the orange guy keeps saying the other countries are going to pay them when infact the importer pays them. So if Walmart gets a 20 dollar coffee pot from China a 20 percent traffif is 4 dollars, doesn't sound like a lot but Walmart is not going to let that cut into their profit margin so that coffee pot just went from 25 to 35 so Walmart can cover the tarrif and still make a profit.
@MissingLink Well, just like you liberals said during the Biden inflation, if you can't afford it, get a better job!

@RoguishEyes not a liberal, just explaining how tariffs work, voted for trump 2x, but could not vote for him again, so I voted for no one, I lived in state were it didn't matter anyway

Don't let the tariffs scare you. They can stop as quickly as they start. It depends on what other countries do. If they have tariffs on the US, then the US should have the same tariff on them. I'm guessing you family is Soros, DuPont and the rest, correct?

@nudistsueaz I am not real familiar with them, it looks like they are some rich people?

No, my family is not rich nor am I

@Punches Either are we.

Trump supporters are cult like in their following. I don’t believe there’s anything Trump could do to prove to them that they made the wrong vote. It’s a situation of him pissing on them and saying it’s raining and they’ll happily talk about the weather. So if they want to think they’ll have more money from his choices? Nothing will convince them otherwise. Not even if they don’t receive a penny extra in his entire term. They will still insist he made America richer.

@RoguishEyes Keep repeating yourself and see where it gets you. Go ahead. Have a ball.
@Reject Nah. I only repeat a question 3 times when getting no answer. Then I determine that my subject has inserted his foot in his mouth so deep that he is too embarrassed to explain himself when called out.

@RoguishEyes Wonderful conclusions! I knew you’d get there all on your own. Very predictably. Now that you’re all tuckered out. You can leave with that.

Everyone take a deep calming breath and repeat after me.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

There! Better?
@GerOttman What on EARTH makes you believe – contrary to history and the study of economics – that Tяump's tariffs will improve our economy? Where's your evidence?? Or are you an adherent of faith-based economics???
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@ElwoodBlues He's a libertarian, that quotes Dune but votes for Trump... that says it all. 🤯

@Kwek00 What makes you think I'm a witch?

more AI...more energy needs...infrastructure overhaul nationwide, numerous mega billion dollar investments in manufacturing, for me is all good news

Gut feelings is often the best "source."

The only way wealth will "trickle down" is through redistribution through progressive taxes. Society is too fragmented and the economy too corrupted by special interests for this to happen without government intervention.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Simple answer is they're gullible... He's promised them the world and they believe he will deliver... They never look at him much he's costing or pocketing

Tariff make things more expensive to import and kill the domestic economy if left unchecked.
@butterflybaby75 In 2018 tRump imposed a round of tariffs that, among other things, protected some domestic appliance manufacturers.

Naturally these manufacturers increased prices and boosted profits. They also added a few jobs. The WSJ reported that each new washing-machine job cost consumers about $871,000. A very small win for a very high price.

@butterflybaby75 No, not true
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
Yeah, but the left is no different.

So, it isn't that they are unable to think. They have functioning brains. They literally have chosen to stop using them. They've decided it's more comfortable to let Big Daddy Donald tell them what to think.

And someday soon, they're in for a rude awakening.
