@BritishFailedAesthetic No I've read some of your posts and you seem more of an old timey, fundamentalist type of Christian.
@SumKindaMunster The growing type. People are starting to see society madden and they want to see some truth.

The things that matter are the political positions he actually holds. He's been on Twitter in the last month supporting the European far-right.
ImperialAerosolKidFromEP · 51-55, M
@Kenworth4954 good job putting his salute in context then
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Kenworth4954 I'm glad we agree!

The Democrat stooge media and their "Everything including the kitchen sink" tactics towards anything or anyone that isn't a Democrat. Elon's role is expected to be to wring out the waste in government. And Democrats strive on wasteful spending.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Heartlander 💯 percent correct.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Heartlander so your taxes will surely be lowered?

A guy who has been repeatedly accused of being a Nazi doing the most stereotypical Nazi gesture possible is not an accident.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@CountScrofula yes the media is to blame
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@MasterLee I dunno man I just watched it live
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@CountScrofula saw what you were hoping for then you didn't have to accept reality
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
Definitely taken out of context , he was thanking people from the bottom of his heart
candycane · 31-35, F
@Prison1203 yes the media didn't post the whole salute

The media wouldn't take anything Trump says out of context.🙄

@ron122 And that's why it's ok to promote Nazism. Good argument.
Kinda doubt he meant it that way, but still….. gotta be more self aware.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@marybmom anyone can be a billionaire with Apartheid money and government bailouts. It helps having a rich daddy.
You have to listen to me. I'm South African and America is now a wholly owned subsidiary of a South African.

@basilfawlty89 neither you or I have proven the smarts to make a billion dollars and we are both smart enough to see the bad optics. Thank you for highlighting my point.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@marybmom I literally own a startup that produced a profit in the first year which is rare for startups. Unlike Elon, I can actually programme.
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
Well we first need to use our common sense rather than take irrational positions. What active Nazi party even exists in the US? What active Nazi party has he ever been linked to? So is Elon Musk attending meetings in someone's garage with five other Nazi's? Somehow I highly doubt any of these things.
BohemianBabe · M
@Kenworth4954 That's nice, but that wasn't the question. The question was if Elon Musk did the fascist salute, which was commonly done in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.
The answer is yes, he did. Whether or not he attends meetings in a garage with other Nazis is a different question.

@Kenworth4954 Exactly
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
@nudistsueaz thank you my dear!
graphite · 61-69, M
It's the Democrat media's nonsense. Democrats ranging from Pocahontas (Liz Warren) to others have had similar gestures.

@nudistsueaz He's Canadian. Like a lot of Westerners, he's indoctrinated from his very specific and personal choices of media and social media which confirm what he already believes.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Josh1454 As I have said to many many MANY Westerners who are not Americans....
...all you know about America is what we sold you...butt out and focus on the issues in your own country...your Prime Minister just resigned in disgrace and there is a power vacuum, but you wanna spend your time promoting conspiracy theories in American politics.

The "Nazi salute" didn't begin with the Nazis, it began in ancient times with the Romans.
Then in the 1890's it became the "Bellamy Salute," named after Francis Bellamy, who wrote The Pledge of Alleigance.
Then when Benito Mussolini rose to power in Italy during the 1920's it became the Fascist Salute.
Shortly thereafter, when Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany, he adopted the salute for the Nazi Regime.
So you see, the salute itself has had a varied history.

@Dave1955 While I don't approve of the salute anymore than you do, I'd like to point out that my aforementioned comment and the pictures therein were purely for educational purposes only.
To show the lesser informed how it originated and how it transpired throughout the ages.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm aware of that.
The swastika 卍 (manji, in Japanese, or wàn in Chinese) was originally a symbol associated with ancient Oriental culture, particularly with buddhism.
The NSDAP adopted the reversed version as their symbol.

No. THESE are Nazi salutes.

It was clearly a Nazi salute. That said, whether he was expressing his genuine beliefs or just trolling and playing to the Trump crowd, I don't know.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
No, it really wasn't. Why would anyone think that?
