A leader's behaviour and actions count more, but that doesn't mean his figure is irrelevant. In my experience as somewhat of a political consultant, I would tell me clients you need to have both form and substance to have any relevance.

@MarkPaul I don't understand what you mean by 'figure' and 'form and substance' here, if you don't mind explaining further?

Their ideology and their plan to implement that system is most important.
That being said a charismatic leader who knows how to get their message across and work a crowd is important.
You can have the greatest idea but if listening to you is like nails on a chalkboard it won't get traction.

Much more ideology than person. The fact is that the human is a failure. The only option is who best represents the ideology I hold. Thus Trump is a terrible candidate but is much much better than Kamala, Biden or Hillary.

Grasp of the problems the country faces.
Ideas in how to tackle them.
I'm not interested in personality or rhetoric along party lines.

Ideology. Leaders are very important, but it they don't support my favored ideology, they are useless to me.

The leader. Ideologies are just a tool.

@CountScrofula I agree to a degree. But if you have someone like Ben Stein pushing your ideology or system and you are just going to bore people into a slumber no matter what.
