Israel announces end of Syria border agreement

Netanyahu has announced the end of Israel's 1974 border agreement with Syria.

How much of Syria will Israel take?

Netanyahu is a hungry vindictive war monger. I’d say he will grab as much as he can.
Netanyahu is a war criminal, he really needs to be arrested and put on trial.
He isn't doing his country any favors, pretty much the rest of the world could care less is Israel survives or not.
@NativePortlander1970 The information we receive from Israel is not worth the money and weapons we give them.

Israel and the United States share a spiritual connection, they're both relevant to each other.

What spiritual connection is that? Zionists are atheists. The Palestinian land they are occupying was given to them by the British. Don't confuse that with the land promised by God to Jews in the Hebrew Bible. God is not of this world, and neither is the land promised to Jews.

All of it, and this has been the plan for decades now...one big reason Syria did not have jew controlled central banking
Like all the other parties with proxies in the country they will all take as much as they can get and hold.

Bibi wants his "greater Israel" and Erdogan wants all of Syria for his new Ottoman empire delusions and the US and France frankly probably don't give a shit if the whole country burns to the ground as long as whatever is left doesn't get in the way of their geopolitical games. See Libya....or the two fiefdoms run by warlords calling themselves Libya as an example.

I think the next few weeks will be critical as each faction within and around Syria positions itself for maximal leverage. The first foreign issue to resolve is the status of Russian forces on the coast, as they will continue to exert negative force and occupy key geography in economic terms. This will tie in to how the new Syrian leader choose to balance internal tensions with external concerns for stability. There are deals to be made, and hopefully his focus remains on what is best for his people. He shouldn’t get distracted by the Golan except to assure his neighbor of security and no territorial ambitions.
They will probably Annex the Golan Heights and push the buffer zone out to the east towards Damascus maybe annex some of the land to the south of the Golan and create a security zone so that they can settle the Golan

Hopefully all of it.

@emiliya Yes they did. They survived annihilation, conquered and won. Nothing else matters.

@Allelse It will be the same if they are conquered at some point. Nothing else matters.

@emiliya Exactly! See now you're getting it. And if you win you can make up the story however you like.

as long as Iran, Russia or terrorists groups don't get their hands on the WMDs in Syria. HTS is basically al qaeda there's reasons to worry. pray for the Syrian
Since Syria is no longer Syria, well it is, you know what I mean, whatever peace treaty Israel had with Assad no longer exists.
