I'm not into POLITICS, sorry. ^^

I'm not really into politics, sorry, and I hope y'all don’t hate me for it. It doesn’t mean I don’t care about what’s going on—it’s just that I don’t want to talk about it in a deeper sense. I stay aware of the news, but I don’t really dive into it. To me, politics is like Gotham, full of hideous people and there’s just one hero who truly cares and wears a mask, unlike those with fake smiles. But that doesn’t mean if you ask me about politics, I don’t know anything—I do. I just prefer to stay silent because I know everyone has their own perception. It’s just being lowkey, not dumb. 🐸

Genuinely, it's hard out there. Just protect yourself. Spending all of your time freaking out about politics isn't going to make you a happier person.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@CountScrofula That's the thing. I try very hard not to freak out, but staying informed is vital, especially in the face of recent revelations about myself. I need to know whether I'm going to get arrested for going out on a date.
But politics is everything, including if we're allowed to hide in the bushes or not.
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@sstronaut hahaha right, I totally get that politics affects a lot of things, but I just prefer to focus on the areas where I feel I can make a difference in my own way. We all have our different levels of involvement tho. ^^
@iamrainfrog I totally agree with you, I just enjoy posting playful stuff.

I've seen my parents take politics too seriously, when they have no control or no effect, and just leads to a lot of extra stress and arguing and doesn't help anything.

@jshm2 Oh, you’re calling me ‘kiddo’ now? Did I hurt your ego? Just messing with you as well, I don’t take it to heart. No need to worry. In fact, I’m not the one who’s saying mean stuff and calling someone ‘kiddo’ here.. thanks ^^
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@jshm2 I've been saying that about Batman for years. He's got all those billions of dollars, and could spend it repairing Gotham's infrastructure, creating education programs for impoverished kids, funding rehabilitation for people with legal histories, and so forth, and what does he spend it on? A citywide surveillance system and bat-themed weapons.
ron122 · 41-45, M
You're probably smart not to talk politics.
simjks4 · 22-25, M
Speak your truth gang 🗣🗣
Nevertooold · 56-60, M
I don't blame you at all!!!!
RedBaron · M
There’s really no need to express all that. If you wish to stay silent, just do so. 🤷‍♂
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@RedBaron Fair point, but this post is actually for the people who keep messaging me, and I’m tired of replying to all of them. If it bothers you, its free to scroll past as well, you know.'🤷🏻‍♀'
RedBaron · M
@iamrainfrog It doesn’t bother me, I just didn’t see the point.
That's important to the ecocidal movement. Carry on, you and your people will never be stopped.
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@Roundandroundwego I see where you're coming from, but I really just prefer not to get too deep into politics. I care about the world, but I think it's important to focus on solutions in a way that works for me personally. We all have our own way of engaging with things, and that's totally okay. Still appreciate your sarcasm.
How can anyone hate you for that? It's when you get so uppity as to have a differing opinion from someone that you get into hot water.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
If you stay aware and you vote your mind, that's enough for now. We do need more active people, but also I understand it can drive folks insane so I don't blame anyone for keeping out of the weeds on it.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Yeah, I get it. Nothing ever happens. Right? Except it's about to. It's not politics to talk about human rights violations that are coming.
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@LordShadowfire I get your point as well, and you're absolutely right that human rights are incredibly important. I'm not saying those issues aren't critical—I just prefer to approach them in my own way. I believe we all need to find the right balance between staying informed and protecting our peace of mind. It's tough because the world is always changing, and it can feel overwhelming. But I do believe that everyone plays a part in making a difference, even if we're not always shouting about it.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@iamrainfrog For me, when people talk about how they don't discuss politics, I accept that as an excuse when it's a question of how best to fund Social Security or what to do about our crumbling infrastructure. That's not a conversation for everybody, and even I find it boring. But when we're talking about how one presidential candidate has literally promised to put people in concentration camps, I will absolutely charge in and argue to the death.

You're right, though. There are other ways to make a difference.

I don't blame you at all.
swirlie · 31-35, F
Your post sounds very political to me. Just sayin'... 🤷🏼‍♀
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@swirlie Oh, totally, you can say that. I guess sharing where I stand without trying to launch a full-blown campaign can be seen as politics these days. But hey, who knew my 'I'm staying out of it' stance would be so controversial? Just sayin. ^^
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@swirlie I guess I just wanted to make sure I was clear about where I stand?
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@LordShadowfire For me, though, it’s not about being complacent—it’s just about not feeling the need to constantly dive into every issue. There are many ways to care about the world and contribute, even if you’re not always vocal about it. I think being aware is already a step in the right direction. Is being aware is clearly too quiet for some people these days? jeez.

@MarkPaul keep yapping, I didn't read any of that Mr I freeze when spoken to
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@iamrainfrog Look... I am not faulting you for choosing a head-in-the-sand lifestyle. I get it. Politics is tough to handle and takes a level of fortitude that most people just don't have... especially children. I just think your choice isn't something that should be applauded or held up as some kind of role model example. It's like saying... "oh no, OMG, life is so scary so I'm going to just focus on fashion."
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@deadgerbil I froze once and that was a long time ago, but you keep making it out like I do it all the time.
