@LeopoldBloom Bloom please spare me your accusations of anti Semetism. There is nothing anywhere in any of my comments that would lead you to that conclusion.
I've intuited that YOU are a Jew or lapsed Jew, and it is clear to me you have some very complicated emotions around your Judaism, and the way the government of Israel acts in the name of Judaism.
But your argument isn't' with me. It's with yourself and your faith. Speak to someone you trust about it and work it out.
I'm not entertaining any of these accusations any longer.
@SumKindaMunster You've expressed opposition in the past toward Israel's existence as a Jewish state. I know it's fashionable in anti-Israel circles to bleat "we're not antisemitic, we're anti-Zionist" as if that means anything. Saying that Jews shouldn't have self-determination in their historic homeland, which they've already had for 76 years, is antisemitic. It's like saying "I have nothing against Mexicans, but Mexico shouldn't exist."
Since you're not Jewish, you don't understand that Judaism isn't just a religion, it's an ethnicity. I don't have a "complicated" relationship with the Jewish religion; I simply don't practice it. My wife is Christian, by the way. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm descended from Jews, just as you're descended from whatever background you had. It's like accusing an American of Irish background who doesn't practice Catholicism of having an "argument with their faith" because they opposed the British occupation of Northern Ireland.
Maybe if the Republicans in Congress would stop catering to conspiracy theorists and would recognize that we're going to have stronger and more destructive storms because of climate change, they'd appropriate enough money to deal with these disasters. Meanwhile, because of the lies your leaders have spread, FEMA workers working in disaster zones are getting death threats.
There are a some tRump supporters that just love fascism. There are others, self-described American patriots, who SILENTLY ASSENT to Nazis in their midst. Repeatedly. Their SILENT ASSENT is appalling to me.
@Adrift I see your point. However, if I were at a political rally and someone was holding up a flag that's a symbol of hatred & bigotry, I would remonstrate with that person and explain to them why their symbol of hatred & bigotry is very much out of place at an inclusive American rally.
What's surprising (even appalling) about the Nazi flags at Trump rallies is the fact that other rallygoers self-described American patriots SILENTLY ASSENT to Nazis in their midst. Repeatedly.
This silent assent of other trumpsters is disturbing.
@ElwoodBlues Huh! I have known people who have been to trump rallies and not once did anyone ever mention seeing a nazi flag or white supremacist groups. and they would avoid approaching or even being around such a group. Because such a group usually spells trouble.
Rule 1 Sense the potential danger and leave. Approaching and confronting such a group will just invite trouble. Rule 2. If you find yourself in a situation that doesn't seem right, LEAVE the situation! Rule 3. Refer to rules 1 and 2 and you probably will not be the next one we read about in the news papers. Didn't your mother ever teach you anything?
No idea, but some Kamala supporters fly other flags of our enemies, which I don't understand, either. I guess people fly the flags they want whether I agree or not.
@sree251 Once again, we might not always get the exact results we want. But yes, as long as we have a vote in who serves in office, we all have a say. If we lose our democracy, which is the goal of the Republicans, then we won't have a say anymore.

Having a say is all that matters to you? Ok, you can have your say, once every four years.
@sree251 Of course it's not all the matters. You asked if America is an authoritarian state, I said no because we have democracy. It doesn't mean things are perfect, it doesn't mean there's not a ton that I would change. But no, we're not authoritarian as long as we have democratic elections.
Also, it's not once every four years. I also vote in the midterms and I'm active in local politics in both America and Germany.
Why do liberals promote hate, division, antisemitism, terrorism, people who hate freedom and democracy, people trying to depopulate the world through clot shots and clot shot infested food, bug eating, higher prices for food/gas/coal, bsnkrupting successful nations in favor of communist nations, denial of basic human rights, all for virtue signalling and ushering in world poverty at alarming rates?
I'm not sure why you think people with Harris/Walz signs are "warmongers." That doesn't follow. If Trump wins, the Middle East will explode and Russia will obliterate Ukraine. It's the Trump/Vance people who are warmongers. They're only anti-war when a Democrat is in the White House. The Vietnam War, the Iraq War, and the Afghanistan War were all started by Republicans.
At this point in time, we can only project into the future by exploring likely scenarios of what may happen. Trump is a take charge guy and is the only party who has expressed his intention to stop the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. The ending of violence is all that matters. Both wars have been going on without any resolution. It clearly shows that the policy of the current Administration is to maintain the status quo allowing the wars to go on.
War is a very important force uniting all conservatives. Americans don't mind when it comes to war, or they'd know how to vote anti war, for a third party candidate like Jill Stein. Most Americans say they want to stop arming Israel! And yet they're not ready to elect a government open to that.
Maybe not yours personally, but the magats, project, lie, bully, resist facts, etc., etc. It's all so predictable, what they (you?) do! You threaten, storm the Capitol, kill people for no reason, go through life without a sense of empathy or a true sense of love and create chaos. We KNOW what is coming. It's all predictable.
@MarmeeMarch But the extra 40,000 keep the labor price down by supply and demand..Thats economics.. Look. I bash America a lot and I admit it. But the fact is America has a double standard of laws and polisies everywhere that are simply not enforced. The illegal migrant problem could be solved in months. But the US economy needs them, as labor and as customers for rentals and consumers..So make the law match the reality and I will stop complaining. So many of Americas systems of society are failed in similar ways, all the way up to the economy.😷
