What is a multi cultural area in universities?

The person who told you that immediately concluded they are based on race, which says a lot about them. They aren't based on race. They encompass race, gender, sexual preference, even economic status. If they told you they exclude white people, then that's just a dog whistle and you should ignore it for the nonsense it is. They are basically spaces within the campus of many universities that are at pains to emphasise total inclusion of everyone, irrelevant of skin colour, sexual preference, class status, even political affiliations.
