@Ontheroad Yes! I met people ≈29 yrs ago, graduating high school, who were just raised without anywhere near as much racial baggage as I had seen.

I was very hopeful.

Then we saw the summer (pre-pandemic) where white police officers were shooting fleeing black guys in the back because the armed, trained officers were "scared"...then the various other deaths (Floyd, etc.).

It was gut-wrenching.
