Who knows. If you believe in religion you can believe in every single conspiracy and lie.

@NatureGuy77 Mueller finds no Trump-Russia conspiracy.

Highly unlikely. Nevertheless it is fact that Russia interferes with the 2016 election with the aid of benefitting Trump, collusion or not.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SW-User And so did the UK, so has France, so did Japan, so did South Korea, so did Spain, so did New Zealand, seems nobody wants you left wing nut job marxists for any reason

Because the woke left has ruined society
curiouslady93 · 31-35, F
@BRUUH [image][image][image]
@BigImo Actually, I somewhat agree. The term woke doesn't have any specific meaning. But we all know what people generally mean by it. They are referring to beliefs, norms, propositions, and philosophies (such as intersectionality, to name one of the most popular and pernicious), pushed largely by the social justice left, with roots in the frankfurt school, which infiltrated academia. I think this IS a problem, and has done much, MUCH more damage than it has good.
BigImo · 22-25, F
@BRUUH but that's exactly the point. We don't all know what people generally mean by it, because the definition seems to change every time it is used. Sometimes it's thinking slavery is bad, sometimes it's acknowledging that women exist, sometimes it's getting vaccinated. It seems to just mean "thing I don't like"
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
Because folks are figuring out conservative ideas and policies work. The liberals have been eroding our country for generations, it is time to try something different. To quote Trump on this very topic, "What have you got to lose?"
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@BigImo

I struggle to identify myself as a conservative, because it's related to so many things that I either oppose or am not opinionated about. However, the reason why I do in some contexts call myself conservative, is because conservatism seems to recognize the importance of order in society, which I think is missing in society.

Conservatism as a political school of thought has it's origins in a scottish statemen writing a letter on why the French revolution is a bad idea, and why the american revolution is actually a better way to bring about change. The general philosophy of conservatism is to be careful about social change, and be gradual about it because if you take away order, you may see far worse consequences. I agree with this, a lot. Someone who takes conservatism too far would be against any social change and more or less want to revert back to some period that they think was perfect, and someone on the left would likewise strawmann conservatism as being opposed to social change as a concept. The truth is that even the forefather of conservatism was in favor of a drastically new way of governing as done in the USA.

In my case, I think it vibes well with the way i'v been seeing the world as I get older. I think human beings are social beings, and we must obey certain tribal laws. We need a sense of community (which was traditionally brought about by church), we need healthy sexual ethic as opposed to "do as you want braaah" because the current paradigme the left has gotten us is one where barely legal girls sell their puss pics on only fans, and instead of making this not-a-thing, we are told "don't slut shame". I think conservatism is a much more sane way to govern society than "do what feels right dawg!! live and let live. Don't judge maaan, if an 18 year old girl wants to get gangbanged by seven old guys on camera, then it's ok because consenting adults", Like, i'm so tired of hearing "consenting adults" as an excuse for some of the worst ills of society. Libs imply by saying "if two people consent, bla bla bla everything is fine" that we are just on our own, not members of a society, and our actions have no trickle down effects.
Ok, i'm ranting. Hope this makes sense to you, even if you disagree.
Vin53 · M
@BRUUH Yeah I do. I'll give you $100 for every Dem politician and drag queen convicted of child molesting and you give me $10 for every GOP politician and Religious leader convicted and lets see who has more money at the end of it.

That's a nice word. We like to "conserve" the best in our society.

Except that's not what's happening.

Its actually a growth of BIGOTRY and WILLFUL IGNORANCE.
sladejr · 56-60, M
@PleasurePunch I've definitely seen a huge increase in willful ignorance since you oozed in here
GuiltyBiStander · 31-35, F
Because, wishful thinking is so much easier than facing facts.

There is no red wave, or conservative shift, or right turn, and no "progressive" surge either - no matter how much propaganda political hacks spew on backwater social media platforms like this one.

What IS happening is that republican and democrat parties are continuing to lose registered voters in record numbers. And moderates from both sides have formed a new, and likely permanent majority of Independent voters :

Partisan politics, and all the junk thinking & phony culture wars that go with it, are failing real people who live in the real world.
robertsnj · 56-60, M
@GuiltyBiStander thank you for posting data! Gallup / good source.
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
The harsh reality of America today is more protests, LGBTQ in your face, the woke agenda, abortion (killing babies), open borders, increase in crime, higher cost of living, foreign relations, too many homeless..etc.... and most all of it is because of the current liberal democrat administration.
They have no backbone to control America as it should be.
So the other alternative to be a good citizen and enjoy your life is join the conservative agenda.
The open borders alone is the worst thing any president has done...it's so wrong.
@sree251 So basically, just a buzzword that boot-lickers repeat?

Brain injuries

@GlitterEater Well, they were warned about that COVID vaccine.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Justice4All Or maybe allowing COVID to burn through the population. The infection is statistically correlated to brain damage, especially for those who had no prior immunity.

Culture operates on a pendulum. Things were pretty far left and now they're just swinging the other way. Cycle has been going on since forever.

This happens every two or three generations, when young people start to realize the insanity of the other side. It's a cycle.
More people are waking up to the fact the big gov't is the problem
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
Everyone is starting to realize that the working people can't support all the non-workers! The border needs to be closed and illegals deported! And we need TERM LIMITS!
SW-User
@fanuc2013 we’ve got term limits, and the open border is a myth.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@fanuc2013 Well if the working population cannot support the non-working section (which is expanding because of retirement and longer lifespans), would it not make sense to integrate those "illegals" into the mainstream workforce? 🤔
sladejr · 56-60, M
@SW-User So sure of everything, and 100% wrong
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
The world's in an economic mess and it's election year.

Consequently everything is the incumbent's 'fault'.
Opposition parties and individual characters get to scream and shout their personal grievances.

Disenfranchised folk gravitate toward those who shout the loudest.

Loudmouthed agenderists come to the fore thus the Republican party (desperate for power) can't ignore them.

Agenderist gets elected with mandate in both houses.

Their own economists; B o.A; and other fiscal institutions tell them there is no money and the cost of borrowing game begins !

Only question is which country do you see buying American debt ?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Vin53 as you age your organs can't cope with the salt or sugar or processed food as effectively as it did when you were younger.
Thus you get diabetes or heart disease or any number of neurological problems start.
Vin53 · M
@Picklebobble2 ahhh...so you're overweight due to a stagnant life style.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Vin53 proving to be very little to do with weight.
It's the lifestyle.
Working 14 hour days - stress.
Trying to get to required client numbers per day - physical and mental stress.
Unable to stop and eat regularly - low energy.
Exhaustion
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
If everything has become culture war, generations of young white men coming up are not going to see the left as their natural home.

And I say this as a radical leftist.
Abortion has been killing off future liberals since 1973.
@Diotrephes Well to be fair, the Right is also trying to eliminate democratic elections. So having more left-leaning people won't matter.
@AtticEscapee Best Comment by far.
@NoThanksLeon Thank you. Ironic, isn't it?
Both the elections and the surveys show the opposite.
Also, identification doesn't always line up with real beliefs and actions. Most Americans who identify as conservative still agree with the Democrats on policy, and will vote for either party depending on the candidate.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo Which policy, abandoning American citizens to raghead terrorists, perhaps?
@sunsporter1649 I already debunked that, you're not fooling anyone.

Most Americans, including ones who identify as conservative or conservative-leaning, are pro-choice, want to raise the minimum wage, are fine with gay marriage, fine with gender-affirming care, want a ceasefire in Gaza, and want to expand the ACA.

This is why Republicans are constantly doing culture war nonsense about trans people and "wokeness" in the media. They don't want to talk about policy because they know Americans are against GOP policy.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Society is ageing more quickly than it can renew itself and economic inequalities have become entrenched.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SunshineGirl Couple that with the same happening in Japan and across Europe and that's why the world economy continues to shrink.
Justice4All · 36-40, M
I don't think it's so much conservatism is on the rise as it is progressivism is on a decline.
Vin53 · M
@Justice4All Progressivism is finite.
dale74 · M
We are tired of paying for others who don't want to put in the effort if they can get a hand out.
Politics seems to be downstream from their daily lives. Most people are self absorbed and struggling just to survive, the economic system is like that. Collective actions are off limits to the disempowwred ninety percent and the people who control things tend to be radically right wing.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
The nature of a progressive is that they are orented toward the future, for brighter times ahead. Where a Conservative wants to cling to the past, to hang onto or recover what they had. I think your answer is in there..😷

@MistyCee To be honest, much as I hate to say it, the American right has just never got over the fact that a Black man (mixed race is irrelevant; he wasn’t white) was elected president.

Without Obama there would have been no Trump, Desantis, woke hatred, etc.
