Conservatism is on the rise in America.

Those who identify as conservative both socially and economically are at their highest rates since 2012.

Why do you think that is?

Because folks are figuring out conservative ideas and policies work. The liberals have been eroding our country for generations, it is time to try something different. To quote Trump on this very topic, "What have you got to lose?"
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SlaveEt yeah, that trickle down economics is working damn fine for the poor and disappearing middle class...
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89
The disappearing middle class has more to do with political policy, intrusive and restrictive laws and the growing economic interference by an ever expanding government.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SlaveEt nope, since Reaganomics, the middle class, small business owners and farmers who can't compete with big agriculture has their properties foreclosed.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89
And that started only after Ronald Regan was in office?🤔
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SlaveEt are you going to claim that Reagan didn't champion trickle down economics?
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89
Why is trickle down economics a bad thing? After all, I have yet to receive a paycheck from a poor man.
BigImo · 22-25, F
@SlaveEt conservatives have literally been wrong about everything in all of human history
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@BigImo
*sigh* Another indoctrinated youth. It will be nice when the education system stops producing so many.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SlaveEt okay...here's some basic economics for you. If you're a rich guy you make more, you also use more. If you use more you should pay more, pay your own logic it doesn't make sense taxing the small guy the same amount.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89
Hmmm, I'm not sure I am the one in need of the econ lesson there sweetie.

Of course wealthy people make and use more. Good thing too! If they don't buy the big fancy houses, yatchs and cars, go on trips or invest in whatever crazy schemes they do where exactly do you suppose all the people working in those fields would make their money?? The wealthy help drive and create more wealth. I wish there were more millionaires and billionaires! The rest of us would be better off.
BigImo · 22-25, F
@SlaveEt feel free to give one example of the more conservative side being the good guys
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@BigImo
Please see the Trump Presidency for many examples😊
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SlaveEt yeah that botched COVID handling and kids separated from their families and put in cages violating their basic human rights was *chef's kiss*
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89
*chuckle* You want kids in cages, see the Obama administration. And don't look too hard at what has been happening along the border the past 3 years, you might not like what you see.

Considering the states had most of the power on how COVID was handled, where do you see the federal government failed?
Catzgano · 31-35, F
@SlaveEt like trump cares about the middle class total riot. He just wants to keep billionaires “taxes low”
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Catzgano
Please explain to what is wrong with keeping taxes low?
Catzgano · 31-35, F
@SlaveEt for billionaires really?? You need that explanation?
jackieash · 26-30
@SlaveEt The wealthiest squirrel away large amounts of money just because they feel like they can. What has actually happened is that the already immensely rich have got richer through tax breaks and off shore hedge funds that those lower down in society have little or no access to. It is hoarding wealth for the sake of it. Those who hoard it know they won't spend so much in ten lifetimes. It is a truism that the more the mega wealthy have, the more they want and the more they want to keep. Not only is it creating hoarders of wealth, but those at the very bottom can't make progress despite working hard, and that creates an underclass. If wealth was more fairly distributed, then everyone in society would be able to contribute.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@Catzgano
Considering the wealthy invest in other ideas, expand their businesses thereby hiring more people. However, they only do this when they are less concerned about the government taking money they didn't earn.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@jackieash
Hoarding wealth? Is wealth limited? Is wealth like a pie, only so much to go around and if someone has some that means there is less for everyone else?
jackieash · 26-30
@SlaveEt Ever heard of fat cat company directors? Those that take a disproportionate amount of pie to the rest of the workforce. Then when the company hits a bad patch those directors expect the taxpayer to bail them out.
acpguy · C
@jackieash Your lack of common sense and real education shows. Liberal / socialist controlled media has definitely taken control of your mind. Without wealthy people no one would have viable incomes. The only wealthy people that hoard their money are liberals to control the economy whereas most conservatives that are wealthy improve companies they own / control and spread wealth. The majority of self-made millionaires are conservatives and got there by working hard and building wealth in their companies where as most liberals are old money that has been handed down to them.
BigImo · 22-25, F
@SlaveEt shouldn't be hard for you to think of one if there's so many
jackieash · 26-30
@acpguy And you say I lack common sense and education? That diatribe of yours is straight out of the "conservative" handbook of excuses. Define "working hard". Are you seriously attempting to say company directors "earn" up to 300 times of the average worker is because they "work" 300 times harder than the average worker? If you are, I'm telling you that is logically and mathematically impossible. Hoarders of wealth happen to be right wing, with "libertarian" ideologies.
