Unemployment is at about its lowest level in 55 years. The tech industry, took advantage of the pandemic's crazy spending and focus on online services, to hire more than it needs, at times to the tune of 2X-3X more than it needs. Creating a situation where employees were spending the bulks of their time doing nothing. Worse, they were "working from home", but in reality hitting the AirBnB scene, traveling and screwing around doing nothing, and collect paychecks.
The tech industry had to come to terms with it. They didn't lay off all the extra weight. Nevertheless, anyone who knows what they're doing in the tech space now, has a job, or can find a job.

The retail picture is changing in the US. Mid-to-Large downtown areas, have been experiencing major changes in the past few years, accelerated by the pandemic. The downtown commuting is going away, to be replaced by clusters of multi-residence developments clustered around urban sprawl, taking away with it the "downtown" retail space.
Restaurants's only problem, is that restaurant owners cannot find enough workers to keep their restaurants operating efficiently. Check against your unemployment claim.

@Zonuss Actually, this guy has shown me more than once he knows what he is talking about. The issue is what is counted as unemployment. Typically that does not count the unemployable, or those voluntarily without jobs. For those who want a job and are capable of working one, I know of nobody without a job. Sure some are underemployed, and I know a few that are unemployable mostly for mental health reasons. But, I trust the 3-4% based on how things are traditionally counted.

Seems like a "base" move: Act in a way that is counterproductive to their own (and family) interests. It's just like the people who get upset over social issues and burn down their own cities and loot the locally-owned stores.

Some people knew better, but the average person doesn't question norms, so the majority of people figured slavery wasn't good or bad, it's just how things are. One day, we'll look back on eating animals the same way. And in both cases, the people who did the bad things should be judged in context.

No. Ive been told that title goes to Carter, as during his presidency he really didn't do anything. I have my own personal options though, but who cares? No one at all because my opinion is jsut as helpful and useful as anyone else's.
I was asking more in reference if they were boycotting the state for a particular reason that affected their industry or threatened their livelihoods, or if yhey were boycotting on for their political beliefs.
