@BigImo People have to be judged in context. Back when Washington owned slaves, slavery was super common. That didn't make it right, but it shouldn't count as a mark against Washington.
@BigImo So both are bad things that should be banned. Society as a whole was conditioned to think slavery was ok. Some people knew better, but the average person doesn't question norms, so the majority of people figured slavery wasn't good or bad, it's just how things are. One day, we'll look back on eating animals the same way. And in both cases, the people who did the bad things should be judged in context.
