Inducing an electorate to believe their lot in life is caused by the "other". Disadvantaged and or undereducated people are easy to manipulate with promises of winning. So are people already filled with hate and entitlement. Many of the comments here are directly related to just this.

Nothing changed but the stories in the news. Suddenly it was 1967 all over again. Race protests, gay protests, war protests, political extremists and pro war profiteers were acting as if none of the robbery ever happened.
The creation of a thumbed down low IQ citizenry who by and large rely on willful ignorance, immediate gratification and convenience while ignoring the fragility of their freedom, privacy, safety, security and way of life.

@samueltyler2 Very true. We have always known of propaganda during wartime. But in post war time, we had a variety of newspapers to form our own judgements. The TV stations gave a semblance of impartiality. But today we believe what we read on the INTERNET, and here we are manipulated by whoever. And we don’t notice it.
@meJess I hate to hear that, whether or not it’s in jest. There are few freedoms more important than the right to vote. I’m reading a new biography of MLK and voting rights were such a huge focus of his work.
