Inducing an electorate to believe their lot in life is caused by the "other". Disadvantaged and or undereducated people are easy to manipulate with promises of winning. So are people already filled with hate and entitlement.

@Carla i call it brainwashing, propaganda.
Carla · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 well...indoctrination.
To get people to unquestionably do horrible things, turn their heads to horrible things, be spun to believe horrible and fantastical things, people definately must be subjected to a constant stream of propaganda.

@Carla it is as if they all "drank the koolade!" I really do not understand the attraction. Those with the most to lose seem most anxious to embrace the nonsense.

@samueltyler2 it has baffled me for nearly a decade.
But if you read about cults, what a mind can be bent into, it is easier to see. I just didn't know that such a large group of people, knowing history, because they do, could be sucked in.
But, it's what hate, fear and empty promises will do, i reckon.

@Carla how does a cult attract over 70 million people???? Listening to Iowans praise him is sickening!

@samueltyler2 i don't know. I guess there are that many disgruntled people out there. And plenty of people have recognized that and exploited it.
Right down to that guy at the flea market selling trump flags.

@samueltyler2 Search: "Dark Charisma"
Adolf Hitler was far more than the frenzied madman of popular perception, argues Laurence Rees. Here was a charismatic politician, brilliant at articulating the fears and desires of the people.

This is only one short example of the many that are available. Books, articles and Videos are also available.
When I see trumps rally speeches and the reactions by his cult members this is what we are seeing. "I love the poorly educated"

@softspokenman read Volker Ullrich's "Hitler."if you can get through it you will have daily nightmares. We all hesitated to make the comparison, but now, it is unavoidable. tRump speaks the same language, pulls the same punches.

@samueltyler2 Thanks 👍. More nightmares 😵💫

@softspokenman the US voters need to wake up, to actually listen to what is being said, look at what had actually happened since once 2017. When I hear Iowans say that Biden is just a puppet and the real president is Obama, you know what they are really saying!

@samueltyler2 I agree. "We love you Trump."
