Just to stir things up a tad ...

A political gap in excess COVID deaths widened after vaccines arrived : NPR

"The pandemic inflicted higher rates of excess deaths on both Republicans and Democrats. But after COVID-19 vaccines arrived, Republican voters in Florida and Ohio died at a higher rate than their counterparts, according to a new study.

Researchers from Yale University who studied the pandemic's effects on those two states say that from the pandemic's start in March 2020 through December 2021, "excess mortality was significantly higher for Republican voters than Democratic voters after COVID-19 vaccines were available to all adults, but not before."

UNTANGLING DISINFORMATION
Pro-Trump counties continue to suffer far higher COVID death tolls
More specifically, the researchers say, their adjusted analysis found that "the excess death rate among Republican voters was 43% higher than the excess death rate among Democratic voters" after vaccine eligibility was opened."

This is a good example of natural selection in action.

@whowasthatmaskedman All children (and adults) should have access to life-saving health care. Civilized societies make it a priority. Unfortunately, the US had a long journey ahead to reach that point.

@whowasthatmaskedman That had to be a rough hall for your granddaughters, their parents, and you. Fortunately it worked out well.

@whowasthatmaskedman i hope they are doing well. You are lucky to have good medical care coverage!

In Central Florida, two rehab facilities within 5 miles of each other are suffering Covid outbreaks. It's not over down here - we just won't report on it anymore.
Exactly as expected.

This clearly means COVID has gone woke too /s
Yale? 😆 I’d expect nothing less from another liberal hive mind. 11% of people know that statistics can be altered to fit whatever results the author of a survey wants to spin.

@stratosranger Agreed..This is where people need to learn to think, rather than "feel" sometimes. Its easier to believe the people who say its not your fault. You dont have to change or risk anything..😷

@independentone he suffers from the long term effects of the polio he had as a child. There is a neurodegenerative illness that refuses, and his gait, hand coordination and speech suggest he has it.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@samueltyler2 Very interesting. I'll look into that just for curiosity's sake. I don't like the man and I think he'd better start getting used to extreme temperatures, but I wish him no harm, either.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Graylight i watched a few friends deteriorate from this syndrome, those who fight against immunizations deserve a very special place in hell.
Slade · 56-60, M
If it's NPR it's got to be right. Same ones who say that we are being encouraged to eat bugs is a right wing racist plot. At the same time they've been documented promoting over a dozen times.
Yes, we have all been aware of that. Dying younger isn't going to become an issue in the USA. It's not in the talking points you folks use.
exotic · 22-25, F
idk what's more weird...this study or you quoting it
Convivial · 26-30, F
@exotic that's an interesting point of view I must admit
