Just to stir things up a tad ...

A political gap in excess COVID deaths widened after vaccines arrived : NPR

"The pandemic inflicted higher rates of excess deaths on both Republicans and Democrats. But after COVID-19 vaccines arrived, Republican voters in Florida and Ohio died at a higher rate than their counterparts, according to a new study.

Researchers from Yale University who studied the pandemic's effects on those two states say that from the pandemic's start in March 2020 through December 2021, "excess mortality was significantly higher for Republican voters than Democratic voters after COVID-19 vaccines were available to all adults, but not before."

Pro-Trump counties continue to suffer far higher COVID death tolls
More specifically, the researchers say, their adjusted analysis found that "the excess death rate among Republican voters was 43% higher than the excess death rate among Democratic voters" after vaccine eligibility was opened."

Meh, Trumpers dying, I really don't care.
@independentone We've got an honest one here folks!

@independentone Here's the thing. That's our major complaint against them. They're disassociated, cut off, the care only about themselves and their party, they feel the Dems can die.

Are we the better party to come down to their level?
@Graylight You're absolutely right, not caring about them is wrong, but I find it so very hard to accept their narrow minded politics.

On a side note, what happened with McConnell and that little incident he had today? Do you think he had a mini stoke?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@independentone Between you, me and the internet, there are days I'd like to head the firing line. But I'm trying (most dyas) for loftier goals these days.

I'd suggest McConnell suffered a TIA or a clear cognitive break. I can't help but wishing the best for anyone in a terrible situation, but the Right needs to stop brushing it aside and saying he's fine. Whatever happened, it was a medical episode and absolutely should not be taken lightly.

@independentone he suffers from the long term effects of the polio he had as a child. There is a neurodegenerative illness that refuses, and his gait, hand coordination and speech suggest he has it.

@samueltyler2 Very interesting. I'll look into that just for curiosity's sake. I don't like the man and I think he'd better start getting used to extreme temperatures, but I wish him no harm, either.

@Graylight i watched a few friends deteriorate from this syndrome, those who fight against immunizations deserve a very special place in hell.
