Is there a chance Santos' lies are all an act playing the GOP as suckers?

Any chance Santos is a comedian playing an act in order to expose the GOP as complete suckers? Like Borat?

If not the only other explanation is that he is a complete sociopath.

This guy's not well. He lies just to lie. I mean, how do you say things that are so easily verifiable, like playing volleyball in college and having knee replacements, without being completely out of your mind?

But what I find FASCINATING is the GOP, outside of NY Republicans, aren't coming down on this guy in a big way. "We have morals! We don't tolerate liars!" We all know they do but they're missing a golden opportunity to sell that shit to their supporters. It's nonsensical.

@Ynotisay This is my point. His lies are not only so absurd and blatant - but he keeps telling them even after he has been called out over and over... I see only a few possibilities here:

1) This is a joke to him, like a prank phone call
2) He actually believes the lies he tells
3) He has zero conscience or sense of self that actually cares what others think about him.

Have any of his friends or family spoken up about his character.

I completely agree that it is shocking that the GOP as a whole hasn't condemned his actions and tried to remove him. It makes me wonder how bad someone in the GOP has to be before they admit something is wrong.

If that is true, then Biden is also a sociopath.
ron122 · 41-45, M
@PatKirby He is a whiney little b-tch.🤣
ron122 · 41-45, M
@daisymay See now you got your panties all bunched up and you're all upset.🤣 You should try to be a man.

His Election win should be declared null and void as he fraudulently represented his education and employment history to the voters. He should be made to stand for a Special Election and see what the voters think of him now, if he wins again, then he goes to Congress but I suspect it would be a landslide loss for him...
fanuc2013 · 46-50, F
His constituents should start a recall campaign if they haven't already. Then the House should censure him until all the facts come out.
Piper · 61-69, F
Most anything is possible, I guess. In this case, though, I seriously doubt Santos is playing some "act". He's just an individual who thinks "embellishing" is not actually lying...even when it clearly is.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@Piper This is way more than embellishing.
Piper · 61-69, F
@trollslayer Oh, I agree. He, however, referred to his outright lies as "embellishing".
windinhishair · 61-69, M
He's part of the GOP sociopath group in the House, along with MTG, Lauren Boebert, Gym Jordan, Paul Gosar, Matt Gaetz, and others.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SomeMichGuy Not to worry. McCarthy will not be Speaker very long.
@windinhishair From your lips...to history!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SomeMichGuy He'll be history by the Fourth of July over the government shutdown and budget battles. The Crazies will win.
BohemianBoo · 18-21, M
If he's a complete sociopath, he's come to the right party.
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 51-55, F
Sociopath and republican is the same thing.
Byron8by7 · M
He is a genuine sociopath.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
Personally, I think it's some sort of deflection by the GOP, to hide something more sinister that is happening that they don't want us to know about, kind of like "squirrel"! Keep everyone's attention focused on this loser so they don't see something else happening...
Magnolia21 · 18-21, F
It's politics. You're either a sociopath, or a one-termer.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@SomeMichGuy I have known people who say that Carter was one of the smartest presidents in their lifetime but also did a terrible job. I agree with you - he got lambasted for telling people truths that they did not want to hear. Not so much different than today - people care how their 401k is doing and the price of gas on the corner and vote based on that. When you are in the midst of a cold war and are fed propaganda that the other side is 100% wrong (and evil) and therefore your side must be 100% right, it's difficult to swallow a leader suggesting we have to change our ways. People viewed it as concessions to the enemy. Still no different than today.
@trollslayer Carter's concerns for and ideas about energy independence were not about the Soviets, our Cold War opponent; it was about having the balls of the West in OPEC's vice, a new antagonist asserting itself in 1973 and completely turning over the applecarts of Western economies.

Had we listened--unmoderated by monies from "big oil", coal, etc., thrown at Congress--we'd have had little ripples from OPEC's & the pandemic's effects upon energy costs.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
Not the GOP. But the entire Left.
@dakotaviper
besides, what do you think the Tigers are going to do this year.
Any team which had three of the best pitchers in all of baseball--AND the hot-af wife of one!--and let them all go...they deserve to be in the doldrums.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
@SomeMichGuy true. About a month after they traded Verlander, he was in the World Series and the Astro's won.
@dakotaviper Yes. They should have begged, borrowed, stolen to keep at LEAST him.
Spotpot · 41-45, M
He is the perfect choice for in todays post truth Trumpain GOP.
@Spotpot Post-truth...I like this description, hate the reality of it. 🥺
That's the most generous interpretation of this ass possible.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
The rest of the GOP are mostly identical to Santos.
Well, integrity certainly isn't part of the election system.
