@hippyjoe1955 The majority of land mass in the USA is controlled by republicans. The majority of state legislatures and state governments are controlled by republicans. It has been this way for decades. The citizens of the USA as a whole vote slightly democrat (don't believe me? Only one GOP presidential candidate has won the national popular vote since 1990). The GOP holds onto power due to 1) how legislative districts are drawn 2) the fact that republicans are generally more active voters than democrats. Gerrymandering may be some of it, but in many cases simple geography makes it difficult to have competitive districts. The blue districts are bluer than the red districts are red, and this is in part because blue districts are more often in urban cores. In many states that are mostly rural with few urban centers it is very difficult to draw districts to make the rural areas competitive. the fact that this election shows a nearly 50/50 split in both houses of congress, tells me the system is not as broken as people think. What I would like to see are fewer states/districts that are so uncompetitive (to either side) that there are almost no challengers.

@sunsporter1649 democrats aren't innocent of gerrymandering. Just not as guilty. More democrats have a sense of fairness, but that is not all of them.

@Convivial I know this because one should expect cheating. When ever there is big money and power involved you should expect cheating. When there is documented evidence of ballots showing up with very little 'chain of custody' documentation you KNOW there has been massive cheating. Given the US's very lax electoral system there is automatically fraud. Biden did not get 81,000,000 votes. Brain damaged Fetterman did not win his election. The dead guy did not get elected.
