(Compliments of an agreement with that Irish born President O'Bama) A couple of points worth looking at. First, those BUFFs wont be carrying crowd pleasers out of Australia. We tolerate "dont ask dont tell" for American (and other) ships in port. But not on our land thank you. Second, the US forces in our north are the Australian contribution to the US forward defence in the area to save the US the cost of a more expensive Carrier group rotation in the region. Finally, Australia has had boots on the ground and planes in the air at just about every foreign party the US has ever thrown, including those not sanctioned by the UN. Destroying coal fired generation plants is absolutely insane. It is the cheapest way to produce electricity. Wind and solar is not dependable. Natural gas is a good alternative. Green power very questionable. Our world is being run by idiots.

Biden is staying true and beholden to China as they are ramping up the construction of more coal plants, with no plans to shut them down anytime soon. China is burning more coal than the US, western Europe and India combined...but it's so important for the US to be green.

Biden plans floating platforms to expand offshore wind power
The Biden administration on Thursday announced plans to develop floating platforms in the deep ocean for wind towers that could power millions of homes and vastly expand offshore wind in the United States.
The plan would target sites in the Pacific Ocean off the California and Oregon coasts, as well as in the Atlantic in the Gulf of Maine.
President Joe Biden hopes to deploy up to 15 gigawatts of electricity through floating sites by 2035, enough to power 5 million homes. The administration has previously set a goal of 30 GW of offshore wind by 2030 using traditional technology that secures wind turbines to the ocean floor.
There are only a handful of floating offshore platforms in the world — all in Europe — but officials said the technology is developing and could soon establish the United States as a global leader in offshore wind.
HINT: Biden doesn't have the power to "shut down coal plants." but it doesn't matter. Even under Trump coal plants were disappearing at record numbers. Why?? Because coal just isn't ECONOMICAL!!!

Great.. This is how Free Enterprise works in a Capitalist system.. As soon as the supply level drops enough to push the prices sky high, then some generation companies will set about building wild farms and solar panel farms. Of course that will take a year or two. But thats better than having that terrible Socialist system where the government stumps up the capital.. God would hate that. 😷
