I've been saying for months that the democrats are damaged goods.
Their credibility will take generations to repair.
Don't worry Robin, democrats will rise from the ash heap as something different.
They may be upfront and call themselves the Communist Party!

@badminton is that where the Reptilians come in?
I'm still not clear if they're Democrats or just working together with them.

@robingoodfellow Hillary Clinton is allied with the Reptilians; George Soros is allied with the Greys.
Hillary seeks to become the evil Empress of Earth. From her secret mountain fortress she is training her army of Reptilian Hybrid super soldiers to take over America.
George Soros is using the Grey's technology by directing mind-control rays at all right-thinking conservative American men. The only defense again the Greys/Soros mind rays is to wear a foil hat. You have to wear it all the time; at work, in the grocery store, to church, everywhere. Don't Tred on me you commie aliens!

I would choose the very same words.
Never before have I seen so many people believe facts are something to be debated and interpreted. If I think it, must be right.

Hey, if the Democrats are so worried about some of these "extreme" candidates, to use their label, why did their PACs spend $53 million dollars supporting these candidates?

@Thinkerbell @LeopoldBloom Actually the Clinton campaign had the ultimate expression in "ratfucking" in the Pied Piper campaign detailed in this article by the Atlantic.
https://www.salon.com/2016/11/09/the-hillary-clinton-campaign-intentionally-created-donald-trump-with-its-pied-piper-strategy/
Essentially, Clinton's campaign conspired with several media outlets to promote Trump's rhetoric and give him extra attention and air time. The goal was to then use Trump's words against the eventually Republican
nominee.
Additionally, if you read the article you will see they conspired against Sanders as well, even though at that point Clinton hadn't secured the nomination and it should have been kept open and fair for both candidates.
Obviously this backfired spectacularly and was only exposed by Wikileaks after the 2016 election.
I have a hard time believing this is the first you would have heard of this, bloom.

@SumKindaMunster That theory was out in the open even before Clinton was nominated. The phenomenon of "Bernie bros" who voted for Trump may have had an effect; the only question is how large it was. While I supported Sanders at the time, he wasn't a Democrat, and only joined the party at the last minute because he had even less of a chance to win as an independent. So of course the party apparatus favored the candidate who had been a member for decades. Anything else would have been unfair. Even if the superdelegate votes had reflected the overall percentages, Clinton still would have won. Sanders never had enough support, he just had enthusiastic support. Kind of like how the Grateful Dead was never a popular band, but what fans they had were really dedicated.
I already said that the promotion of Trump was an attempt at ratfucking that backfired. However, Trump had a substantial lead in the polls from the moment he declared. He would have been the nominee even without Democratic or media involvement. The race was basically for who would be #2 and presumably pick up Trump's votes when he "inevitably" lost support, which is why none of the other Republicans wanted to attack him, as they didn't want to alienate his supporters. Remember when Trump said Ted Cruz' dad killed JFK and that Cruz' wife was ugly, and Cruz didn't even complain? Even at that point, he thought he could either pick up Trump's voters or that the Republican party apparatus, that clearly didn't want Trump to be the nominee, would figure out a way to give him the nomination.

It's not a "theory" bloom, it happened. People lost their jobs over it.
Supposing that's true. Did that make it ok that Clinton and the DNC methodically used their resources to spike his campaign? Shouldn't it have been a fair contest to the end, if, as you say, Clinton would have won anyway?
Bullshit Bloom, he struggled to get the nomination. Remember "Never Trump"? They didn't want him as the nominee and I am certain the Pied Piper campaign caused lots of issues for the Republicans...but it blew up in her face too. Reminds me of the saying about how tyrants sow the seeds of their own destruction...😆
Yes, this goes to my point about "Never Trump" and the assumption Trump would not get the nomination.

Now, now, there's still at least a small chance that enough voters may eventually reject Trumpism. Let's not get totally defeatist.

Yes, the Republicans will win the Senate and the House because they will cheat. Biden is a worthless piece of garbage and always has been but he will accomplish nothing for the next two years and then Trump will be back to finish destroying what little is left of this pitiful bbroken country. It's almost over. We're done.

And when one of their candidates in some state doesn't win, Republicans will be gathered around the voting center praying to God to stop the steal. 😂

{@robingoodfellow] sorry when are you republicans going to let this go . your man went on his platform in 2020 he lost the election . then he cried foul he was cheated of this election .he went too court to get the result annulled but got laughed out of court .there was no evidence of cheating by the democrats so why should it suddenly change 🤷♂️
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@smiler2012 You've definitely got the wrong guy. OP isn't a Republican, nor does he think there was any cheating in the last election. If you reread his post, he's saying Republicans will use the LIE that Democrats cheated in order to take back Congress this year.

There's truth to that. And while I'm confident there are far more people in this country who would vote "D," I think the rigged bullshit they're already throwing out there will dissuade a lot of people from voting. And personally, I can't think of too many things that disgusts more about Americans than voter turnout. It's five minutes out of your life to check some boxes and mail in a ballot. Don't even have to pay for the stamp. I do NOT get not voting.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
And the fact that so many Americans have so little faith in the system that this belief cab gain any traction is a clear statement of how far down the Slippery slope American society has gone. In other Western Democracies if you dont like the government, you throw them out. In America, you rig the vote, use the states to block change and rig the courts so as not to become accountable. Maybe Elon is right. Move to Mars.. There are no more Americas to discover and pillage left..😷

Gosh, was it??? I had no idea. 🙄
No, I don't pretend I know everything, but I keep my mind open and think about what other people say. If I believe there is something to it, I research it on my own.
But that's not what this is about. You've positioned yourself as a wise free thinker, pragmatic and open.
But that's not the experience I had with you. We were talking, you were making some points and I was challenging them...
...then suddenly you pivoted and started pretending you couldn't understand what I was saying, saying I had taken a turn into the "surreal", then you started throwing strawman responses in my face...
...finally you shut down, got real sarcastic, and basically made multiple comments about how I had no power to affect you with my words and insinuating I was deranged or crazy.
I was disappointed both with that, and the childish way you shut down, basically a variation of sticking your fingers in your ears and saying "Nah nah nah"
As I said before, I thought you were better than that....
(that was sarcasm in case you missed it.)

@SumKindaMunster If this is your attempt to "save the relationship" dont worry about it. If you just realised this was all out there and concerned about your image here, well thats on you. I dont claim to know everything and never have. But I know my subject. You wont find me talking about antiques, the joys of hunting, or even what its like to live in South Dakota. I dont know. But economics is a mix of accounting, politics and housekeeping horse sense I understand. And when you attack me personally on that, have your facts or be prepared. You arent.,😷
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I honestly don't know what you are talking about, and I no longer care. This is not a relevant response to what I wrote.
I misjudged you and I am sorry for that, as it is clear you are not the person I thought you were.
Be well.

Third way: Ad hominem or straw man responses. Person responds beside the point, or engages in personal attacks instead of attacks on your argument. You've upset them emotionally and this is the only way they can respond. You win again.
@SumKindaMunster you didn’t like my reference to history so you posted what you mistakenly thought would support your argument.

I wonder why Trump did not set up a government-in-exile
@SatyrService Because he thinks he he's still got a decent shot at winning without it, imo.
In many ways, he's come pretty close to outright rebellion, but his bullshit is sketchy enough that he can't really sell it and his army, i.e., those willing to fight for him is pretty small.
