Can you believe we're allowing politicians in govt to politicize the FBI? That's something they do in Russia or Rwanda. What's this country coming to?

A political party using the FBI to target any presidential candidate is a serious threat to democracy. That's worse than Jan 6.

The FBI doesn't screw around with political agendas and the whims of idiot congressman and women. To execute a search warrant under regular parameters requires an extraordinary amount of evidence. To execute the warrant on a former president, thereby setting precedent, takes vastly more.

When you don't destroy federal documents by trying to flush them down the toilet and shred them into bits, there's no reason for suspicion.

@Graylight The documents obtained from Mar-a-lago obviously weren't destroyed, unlike Hillary's emails. Federal documents? It doesn't matter if they were federal documents or not. The question is whether the documents were classified or not. Those documents had already been declassified according to the President's discretion. This is clearly a politically motivated move and this time the democrats have gone too far.

Secondly, Presidential records and federal records belong to the United States government. Only personal records can be taken and retained after leaving government service. Under the Presidential Records Act (PRA), these are (1) materials relating exclusively to the President’s own election and to the election of a particular individual or individuals to federal, state, or local office that “have no relation to or direct effect upon the carrying out of constitutional, statutory, or other official or ceremonial duties of the President;” and (2) materials relating to private political associations. 44 U.S.C. §2201.

Whether or not they were classified is nearly irrelevant. Trump knows what they looked for and knows what they found. And soo so will we under a trial for federal abuses. Trump is a criminal despot and he will be shown to be just that. There's nothing "political" about it when the crimes actually exist.

The head of the FBI, Christofer Wray, was appointed by the former president. The evidence has to be enormous for the DOJ to sign off on the warrant. And it is.
