All presidents have an approved list of friendly journalists. And those interested in only trouble; this goes back to 1895 or earlier. There’s no evidence Biden is “allowed” to do something. This is a routine compilation that staffer and aides help the president craft. In any administration.

But if you’re looking for an in-depth study of a president who not only refused certain questions but told reporters they were stupid, stormed out of press briefings and cancelled them mid-way, feel free to check out any of the reading material below. Trump changed the relationship dynamics between the WH and the media for the foreseeable future.

I think what you’ll find is that you shouldn’t ask why Biden’s treated differently – you should’ve asked whether it was even true.

@Graylight Trump
@FreeSpirit1 If it applies, yes. But I’m sure your just as diligent when someone brings up Hunter as if that matters.

Did he actually say "allowed"?

I'm not thrilled with him talking about the list, tbh, but I tend to think a POTUS who didn't go into a press conference without a list would best be called unprepared.

This is an international open forum, and I’ll comment on whatever it so pleases me to comment.
@FreeSpirit1 At least he can walk down a ramp without assistance and drink from a glass with one hand.

I mean it's probably so he doesn't get confused. The man is one tough question away from an aneurysm.
MrSmooTh · 31-35, M
@CorvusBlackthorne Nope. Just watch Joe Biden "speak". The man makes zero sense and can barely string a coherent sentence together. He doesn't have a clue. He's always been like that his entire political career. Back in the 90s they used to call him Ramblin Joe Biden.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@MrSmooTh I wonder why the dumb voters keep electing crooks and incompetents time after time? Can it be that the most incompetent politician is smarter than the dummies who keep electing him or her?
MrSmooTh · 31-35, M
@Diotrephes No it's that those who can do and those who can't become politicians
Just because you don't see the strings doesn't mean they are not there

@Stillwaiting Did you get that from your secret decoder ring?
@Graylight You have no reasonable defense of this bumbling idiot and the f'ing mess he's put this country in, so piss off.

everything is choreographed for the prez, hilarious when they try wing it or go off script.
remember boxers or briefs pres clinton??
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@1490wayb You can see it when the President is in a public space and sees a friend or some such and suddenly veers towards them. The Secret Service agents freak out and have to rapidly adjust their protective screen, because for a moment, just a moment, the President is wide open.
@1490wayb I couldn't believe that, but he handled it pretty well. Can you imagine how Trump would have handled that?
Scripted garbage. Funny though how all these “I know better than you” nellies who quote MSM as fact can’t make the connection between news and propaganda.
He has to know the answers to questions in advance so somebody can write the the questions
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Its actully because he doesnt want any tough questions, they involve thought.
And .....well you know😏
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
President H.W. Bush when giving a press conference gave out a list of questions reporters were "allowed" to ask. When in Germany Bush tried that and the German press core refused. Bush cancelled the press conference.
@badminton So all presidents do it,?
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@FreeSpirit1 Perhaps not all, but quite a few I imagine.

Their public relations image is a carefully crafted façade designed to maximize perception. Tight controls are key to maintaining this image.

@BizSuitStacy

Wow, this man (if you can call him that) is being instructed when to sit down. The last time I checked, those who ask you to have a seat are either your parents or principal at school as a kid, and by your boss at work when you're an adult. I figure when you're an elder geriatric this side of a nursing home, those who tell you to have a seat are your handlers.

This senile, low IQ pedophile excuse for a president is a puppet.
@PatKirby I know that part of the instructions are obscured. Our "pRezident" has to be instructed to say hello, to sit down, and to ask one person a question that isn't physically present. Instructions written at a level for a 5 year old, but directed at the leader of the free world. At least we don't have mean tweets.
carpediem · 61-69, M
He's too weak to think on the fly. Everything needs to be scripted. Even then he's a gaffe machine.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@carpediem If you think it is so easy, then you should be able to easily answer the questions. Why don't you try it at the next opportunity? When a reporter asks Biden a question, answer it in your own words. It's fun to do and great training for when you become President.

@Diotrephes I’m not the leader of the free world. He is. And he’s doing a dismal job of it. When you reach that level quick thinking is critical. He has serious cognitive issues the world can easily see.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@carpediem You're missing the point. You lambast Biden for his perceived inability to quickly respond to all kinds of questions. So, you should play the role of responding to the questions he is asked. You know the issues since you comment on them on the internet. So, play the role and answer the questions that the reporters ask him. It is great training and maybe you will give yourself a grade of 93 compared to Biden's grade of 15 (which you seem to think might be too high for him).

You can do it in private and you don't have to tell anyone about it. See how you do over the next two years. You might impress yourself.

@PatKirby I laughed of loud! Thanks dude
The answer is “because it’s standard protocol.” What about the reporters who aren’t even allowed in? Like the ones from “Worker’s World” or “The Daily Stormer.”
@stratosranger You think every reporter who wants to is automatically let in? OK.

Wait, I forgot, you hate Biden, so if he does the same thing Trump did at these events, he's automatically wrong.
@LeopoldBloom No I just think you’re wrong again. As usual
@stratosranger Don't worry, I return the favor.

What was your view of how Trump favored certain reporters and threatened to kick others out? Or we're not allowed to ask that?
Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M
He's just a puppet doing what he is told... most of the time... sometimes he get lost and does not follow the script!

@MrAboo Trump called on who he wanted and if he didn't like the question he'd say " you're fake news' My question is about President Biden

Why did Trump have a list of reporters he refused to call on, and a list of television networks not permitted to attend his press conferences?
@CorvusBlackthorne Shh, we're not allowed to bring up Trump when it's a question about Biden.
