we have our faults but overall i think it is a good place to live. must not be too bad, we have people from all over the world coming here to live. and people are free to seek out other living arrangements if they so wish.
I beg to differ , Yes its a beautiful country and most americans are ok but some of its laws could definitly be looked at again .Number One its gun laws need tightening .
@Rhodesianman Every citizen does NOT own a gun. Many people don't like guns, and won't have them in their homes. BUT...if you are not afraid of guns, in this country you have the freedom to own one.
@4meAndyou Thats what I am saying that law needs to change so that only those who need them because their living off grid and hunting for food or hunting alligators etc should be licenced to own a gun .There is absolutely NO reason for other people who dont need a gun for daily living to own one .There are far to many guns in the wrong hands .Anyone who cant prove they need a gun for daily living must have them confiscated and destroyed .Gun shops must be licenced and without a government licence people must not be able to purchase weapons .
@LucyGray As someone who holds Citizenship in both Canada and the US, they are both great places to live, each has it's own qualities and faults and neither is perfect, no country is. We should celebrate the good and try to change the bad, the fact that we can change the bad is what makes these countries great places to live.
@wildbill83 yep, we got thousands and thousands of immigrants from India and China in this area, and they will tell you straight up, they are fuckin glad to be here. and if they had a chance to go back, they would say Nope. they are fully invested and glad to be Americans. refreshing to see compared to many of the ones who have lived here their whole lives, benefited greatly from it, and continue to bitch and whine.
I wasn't aware that it ever was but in the end it depends on who you are. If you're a rich white man it will probably be up there in the top 5 for sure.
One of the better ones obviously but it's a tough country in which to be poor compared to the social health and welfare provisions of most European states.
@Nimbus I look to places like California or New Jersey that have had a Democratic majority for decades and the utter ruins those states are becoming. Now imagine a Democratic majority in the House, the Senate and in the White House. We’ll be a another socialist (Commie) hell hole in 4 years if that happens. It’s the globalists dream come true. The last bastion of freedom on the planet finally falls and then the push for a one government world will be on.
Not sure if it's the "Best country" or that any one country is the best as they each have their issues but it is one of the better ones to be a citizen of.
According to those who rank happiness in countries, the U.S. is not in the top 10 of happiest countries. Finland is #1, followed by Denmark, then Switzerland.
@exexec But it does depend what they base those findings on, not disputing that those are all nice countries to live in but the question was about "Being a citizen of" not "Happiest country".
If you are white, it is a great country to be part of. If you are non-white, it leaves much to be desired. We need to make the US a great country for all of its citizens, black, white, Hispanic, and other ethnicities, and for all religions. Unfortunately, much work remains to be done.
No. The health care system is not good at all, the politics is too radical, too much racism, and I also wouldn't feel sure when I know that everyone around me owns weapons.
