@Nimbus There is no need for every citizen to own a gun .If you live out in the boondocks and hunt to survive then fine , or you take part in clay shooting then fair enough but with clay shooting guns should be securely locked at the range , absolutely no need to take them home .The police should not carry guns except for specialised teams in each town as there are too many gun happy cops . The average Joe has absolutely no need of a gun and should not be allowed to own one .

@Rhodesianman While I don't disagree with everything you say, you need to understand that the right to bear arms is written into the American Constitution. Not that that hasn't been perverted by some wingnuts but you're not going to change a constitutionally guaranteed right that has existed for 2+ centuries without a LOT of pushback. It's easy to say those things from the outside looking in but it has to be a cultural change too and that would take a long time.

@Rhodesianman Every citizen does NOT own a gun. Many people don't like guns, and won't have them in their homes. BUT...if you are not afraid of guns, in this country you have the freedom to own one.

@4meAndyou Thats what I am saying that law needs to change so that only those who need them because their living off grid and hunting for food or hunting alligators etc should be licenced to own a gun .There is absolutely NO reason for other people who dont need a gun for daily living to own one .There are far to many guns in the wrong hands .Anyone who cant prove they need a gun for daily living must have them confiscated and destroyed .Gun shops must be licenced and without a government licence people must not be able to purchase weapons .
