put it this way... you don't see immigrants flooding the borders trying to get into canada or mexico do you?

@wildbill83 Factually wrong, there were indeed "immigrants to the US flooding the Canadian border" running away from Trump's xenophobic policies. And it's kind of hard for them to flood the rest of the border when 3 of it's sides are Ocean.

@wildbill83 yeah, Bill..... a whole bunch of people threatened to leave when Trump was elected..... they're still here though. so much for their empty threats.

How do you think the Cubans fleeing Castro got here? Or the Chinese, Scottish, Irish, etc. fleeing poverty and famine in the 1800's? Or how about the all the Europeans that fled here during both world wars? I'm pretty sure they didn't walk...

We have refugees from south America seeking asylum in the US, after walking across half a dozen countries (most refugees are content going to the first country they arrive in).

So I find it amusing that you use water/the ocean as a reason Canada has no immigration problem, when terrain or distance is no obstacle for immigrants coming to America...

@wildbill83 Ummm, because it goes down to -60 degrees is why no one attempts to walk across at least one of Canada's borders most of the time. As to your example of Cubans, would love to see refugees trying to trudge or sail across the frozen arctic tundra at -60. The reason so many immigrants from Europe and elsewhere came to America is because America welcomed them then, very different story today. Canada also has an immigration problem but it's a different one as it's not connected by land to poorer countries or a warmer region or even close to one like the US's Southern border is. Neither the North Atlantic or the North Pacific are easily crossed so refugees must either come by large boat or plane and they do, just in much lower numbers.

@spjennifer we still welcome immigrants... we don't welcome illegal immigrants...

@wildbill83 yep, we got thousands and thousands of immigrants from India and China in this area, and they will tell you straight up, they are fuckin glad to be here. and if they had a chance to go back, they would say Nope. they are fully invested and glad to be Americans. refreshing to see compared to many of the ones who have lived here their whole lives, benefited greatly from it, and continue to bitch and whine.

@YourMomsSecretCrush I've been all over the world, the only Americans that complain about it have never been anywhere else...

we should do some sort of exchange problem with these self absorbed snowflakes... send them to live in China, India, Russia, UK, etc. for a year...

I bet they'd be begging to come back within a week...

@wildbill83 lol, that's true.
