@BizSuitStacy You implied the public hadn't seen the redacted documents: they have.
Redactions could hide incriminating details, there is just no reason, from the unredacted portion, to believe that is the case. It looks instead like an attempted fishing expedition.
The reasons for redactions generally are to mask sources and methods that are important for counter-intelligence operations.
@WoodyAq I implied nothing of the sort. I said the public hasn't seen the documents - and until the unredacted are released - as far as I'm concerned, they haven't.
A fishing expedition? Where did you come up with that though? Oh wait. That's right - this whole "investigation" into Trump is the fishing expedition. Let's investigate Trump for "collusion with the Russians" in hopes we can find a crime to impeach.
@SW-User I'd love to know how it's "in our favour" too, because as a Latino, it sure ain't looking good under him for People of Colour. And it's also not looking good for women or our LGBT+ comrades.
@basilfawlty89 It isn't "looking good" for these groups of people? What is it that you think is going to happen to them? Genocide? This is the stigma of hysteria that exists in society where you believe are victims of oppression that does not exist.
Yes, it does, just like kids eating tide pods, people shooting firearms into the air on the 4th of July and thinking that more guns in schools is better than fewer ones.
There's a certain logic and a lot of appeal to all of these things, but not a lot of perspective or thought.
@AgapeLove No, he was taking pictures I had posted on SW, like selfies I was sharing and whatnot, saving them to his desktop, and then trying to doctor them to make it look like I'd stolen the picture off of someone's social media. He did a shitty job though and forgot to delete his own watermarks from Lunapic.com and stuff like that.
@WoodyAq what political cover? People simply don't believe there was any collusion between Trump and the Russians. Two years into the investigation and there is NOTHING. It's not even logical to think Russia would prefer Trump. Why would the Russians torpedo the campaign of a woman who gave them the reset button and handed over 20% of the USA's uranium rights?
People hate Trump. We get that. But it's even easier for Trump supporters to turn the argument the other way and say that the investigation is a hoax in order to sway the midterms in November because the ultimate goal is to impeach.
The best part of this... The FISA memos are getting declassified. We will all get to see the truth for ourselves. We are already seeing the pushback coming from the left in the name of "protecting national security." The truth is these folks are squirming because they are about to be exposed for propogating one of the greatest political conspiracies in this country's history. If I'm wrong...I will profusely apologize, but don't bet on it.
People simply don't believe there was any collusion between Trump and the Russians. Two years into the investigation and there is NOTHING.
Well, you've kinda illustrated the point. Trump is desperately trying to discredit an investigation that hasn't concluded, and has yet to report its key findings, in the hopes that when the facts come out, people simply won't believe them.
But the facts so far are NOT NOTHING. Trump's assertion that the Russians did not meddle in the 2016 election (and continues to meddle now) has shown to be categorically false. At least 5 members of the Trump campaign were aware of these efforts and had meetings and correspondence with agents representing the Kremlin. Not only did they not notify the FBI about the Russians' intentions, but they systematically lied about it (two pled guilty to lying) but Don Jr. expressed a desire to work with the Russian government.
This cooperation coincided with pro-Russian changes to Republicans' policy platform.
And yet you, and other Trump supporters deride all this as nothing, and want to given Russia a free pass on attacking America.
It's not really about his supporters. Trump admires the likes of Putin and, KJU. He admires absolute power.
His supporters are simply useful idiot, too afraid to admit that they bet on the wrong horse. That would be the rank and file. The elite, are happy because he's making them more powerful. Russia is a side thing, and they're happy he's distracted with it.
I dont know that we actually HAVE any counterintelligence efforts against Russia any more. But it's gonna be tough to restart any, when your potential sources are aware the President could sell them out at a random whim.
@FreeSpirit1 I don't know ... I'm a Republican and I'd join Democrats against Putin.
SW-User
Trumpists think what they are told to think. They used to love the FBI and now hate it. They used to think Russia was a threat, and now they think Russia is an ally. Both of these changes suit one person and one person only -- Donald Trump.
SW-User
@SW-User "Think what they are told to think." Thats a laugh coming from a blind hater such as yourself.
SW-User
@SW-User The proof is the changed positions with Trump being the only cause of such changes. You didn't come up with hating the FBI and loving Russia.
Also, your comment makes no sense. If I am a "hater" how does that negate an opinion that Trump Fuckers think what they are told to think?
They think whatever Fucks Snooze tells them to think. too proud and egotistical to admit they were in fact wrong to believe a swindler. They don't question, they just obey. party over country.
Different issue. The question is whether Ohr is engaging in activities against the country’s best interest while having access to I sde government information. Putin is a different problem.
@jackjjackson I do know that if POTUS took seriously a threat that his own security establishment says is serious, he would be leading task force into the problem, not praising Putin and casting doubt on all of US intelligence apparatus (including, again his own appointees).
I also know that POTUS shouldn't be actively interfering in individual investigations, and especially not one that potentially implicates him.
If he has concerns, an independent audit of the organization with recommendations is the way to go. Not ad hoc interventions in individual investigations with clear conflicts of interests for the Republicans.
And you could argue that the two issues are independent, but I don't know anyone dumb enough to really believe it.
