No but the Democrats have been fucking it up for generations
katielass · F
@MasterLee And still are, in spite of not having any "power". They'd be hilarious if not for their utter stupidity and determination to carry out the destructive policies they have been manipulated into believing. You just thank your lucky stars you didn't have kids who will have to live in this country when they complete their objective of turning this one into yet another shithole. Too bad there won't be anywhere for the few decent people who remain to turn to.

@Pikachu Yes but careful observation shows the liberals have the worst record. Suck it up buttercup.

Destroying the healthcare system, destroying the Environment, destroying Public Education and siding with Russia over the US by not defending the US against cyber attacks by Russia and other countries. Trade Wars with "Allies" making everything in the country more expensive. A trillion dollar Tax giveaway to Corporations and the rich. I don't remember any of this at his rallies. I remember he was saying the exact opposite.

@newjaninev2 So you agree with the literature that says it is geothermic reactions and not life forms that generate oil?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 How on Earth do you get that from my response?

It's a complete and utter non-sequitur!

Bizarre!

You keep mentioning some-or-other supposed literature?
How about offering some examples of this 'literature'?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 You said that there were geophysical processes that made the oil in certain areas and not others. I simply pointed out that there is not enough life forms for this to have happened. Let's put it another way. Saudi Arabia alone has 300 billion barrels of oil. Lets go with your number that life on earth has been around for 3 billion years that would mean that there would have to be 5500 gallons of oil made every year in the area of Saudi Arabia alone. How much oil can one life form yield? How many life forms would be needed to provide the raw material to make 5500 gallons of oil for the last 3 billion years? Of course that is assuming that the production was continuous for 3 billion years. We don't know that. All the oil production may have been over a period of a million years which then puts the number of gallons of oil 16,500.000,000 gallons of oil every year in Saudi Arabia alone. Now when you consider that most life forms do not become oil as they simply rot and become soil.... Your favourite theory's numbers don't add up. Nevertheless carry on. Your grade ten science text book was always right and no theory it ever produced was ever wrong.

@JimboSaturn we have the same list
What worries me even more than Trump is that so many people look at him as what President of the United States should be. JimboSaturn · 51-55, M

I’m concerned about the environment and what he and EPA Director Pruitt is doing. All he can think about is money. He is probably a greedy money whore. I can’t prove it but I think he is. It’s pathetic.
Gwangi · 46-50, M
@SimplyTracie the things he has done to gut the EPA, and thus our regulations on clean water, air, etc., are rolling us back to the Stone Age and only helping coal and oil, both of which are 20th century polluting resources. Fortunately the states have more say on how environment will be regulated. Thank Gof for California, Minnesota, and Washington. They will lead the way and keep us as safe as they can. But Pruitt represents the swamp they said they would drain. Not so much.

You're pretty much saying that you enjoy a divided America where the minority of its electorate support Trump? If a POTUS's raison d'être is to 'piss off liberals' then frankly he should resign and just be a parking attendant, as he's clearly useless at being a President of a country.

hey, how about that bombing last year to get rid of the 'terrorists' no casualties but only the bad guys... then we find out 9K then the news shut down on that one.

and now our tax payer funded agencies are going bankrupt again?

then he gets a hissy fit when we criticize him while he laughs boisterously calling us all snowflakes.

he does realize we're his boss? guess not, he doesn't know what a job is.

3.9% the current U.S unemployment rate, which Donald Trump clearly doesn't understand. Part of the reason the unemployment rate fell is because 236,000 people left the labor force altogether last month, not because everyone suddenly has jobs.
The unemployment rate is a measure of people who are looking for a job and those who are working. Elise Gould a senior economist at the Economic Policy Institute noted that while unemployment is technically falling, the figure doesn't include unemployed people who haven't looked for a job within the last month. Unemployment can fall for the right reasons, like more people are working but unfortunately in this case its not the right reasons. Many younger workers are simply getting discouraged and giving up on looking for work. Among prime-age workers between the ages of 25 and 54, more people leaving the labor force than finding jobs.
A recent Department of labor report found that jobs are disappearing faster than they're being created.Meanwhile, the rate of workers going freelance is climbing and the rate of involuntary part time workers or people who are forced to work part time jobs despite wanting full- time work, doesn't seem to be decreasing, according to economist at the San Francisco Federal Reserve.
TexChik · F
Either you’re a globalist lib or your smoking something . The economy is rockin ! There are more jobs now than people looking which usually results in bidding wars for employees ... that means higher wages are likely coming . Our military is getting stronger which is necessary to keep the peace . Our economy is more than double what the other G7 counties combined . The tariffs are the cliff the other countries don’t want to fall off of , so likely they will renegotiate trade so that the US isn’t getting shafted like the last 30 years . It’s ok to make more money ... it’s ok that others don’t ...we’ve had our fling with socialism and now that Trump is in we can see just how disasterous that obama and his ideas were. Trump is unconventional and he doesn’t take any crap ... his methods confuse and confound the left ... which is not a bad thing !

Trump = Make America Great Again
Obama = Make China Great Again
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@BlueMetalChick It's OK, I could have used a dozen big US cities besides Chicago and Detroit.

Why are so many big American cities crumbling? Why can't Detroit, Baltimore, Kansas City, Cleveland, New Orleans, Chicago be made Great again? Why are we tolerating the high crimes and crumbling infrastructure?

It's obvious that making them "better" is a step towards making them and the rest of America great again, but why not shoot for the stars?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Heartlander I'm inclined to agree, our cities aren't awful, but they leave a lot to be desired. And we could improve them like crazy if we committed to it instead of wasting our money on arming jihadists in Syria.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@BlueMetalChick Making those cities great again (including mine) requires restoring their economic viability among other things.

Our rules and regulations are designed for middle-class Americans living in economically viable communities. But those same rules and regulations also apply to the poor and the crumpled inner cities, and for them those rules and regs are stifling. Our middle-class suburbs are viable because people with money can afford to follow the rules. For people without money, those rules are like lead weights.

It's not about just getting the government off of rich people's backs but probably more important to get government off of poor people's backs.

I mean, yeah. Clearly. The stuff Obama put in place is something he can ride for quite a while. You inherit the last guy's economy for a good couple of years.

But I see one of the most unequal countries int he world becoming massively more unequal as the public sector is looted and prices of consumer goods go up thanks to what... four or five active trade wars with allies?

The biggest issue to me will be regulatory capture. Long-term that's gonna cause unbelievable damage. Nobody likes being regulated, but the financial and environmental stuff in particularly is pretty scary.

As a UK resident who has always liked the USA I can say that most people in Europe now regard the US as something of a joke.
We used to respect it and look to it for leadership ... it seems now that we'd look ANYwhere except the USA .... you can't have a leader who can't lead and acts like a playground bully or a petulant child who always wants to get his own way ....even if he doesn't know which 'own way' it is he wants to get ...
