I feel that Trump is doing more harm than good for our country?

How about you?

Who knew so many Americans were Nazis.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@SW-User The current crop of Nazis is on the left. Look at the suppression of free discussion on college campuses.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@laotzu92 Fake news, Nazis are alt-right.
SW-User
Sure, they can be excessive, but they didn’t get Trump elected. For that you need good ol white Nazis Midwest style. @laotzu92
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The whole Nazi name calling thing is a ridiculous dog whistle. There is enough intolerance of both sides that is self cancels. @SW-User
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson It's a different type of intolerance, though. Nazis seek to discriminate and the left are intolerant of discrimination. It's obvious one is based on bigoted beliefs and the other on basic human decency.

@fazer1k You have reached a level of sophistry which entitles you to the title of Grand Sophist. You have been either brainwashed or are in Fernie's words, "complicit" in an authoritarian agenda of the left.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Excellent “Fernie” reference lol. @laotzu92
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@laotzu92 More nonsense. Liberalism is centre ground, not left, and liberals don't seek to control others but will stand against discrimination, as any decent human being will. I referred to the 'left' because that seems to be how Americans see liberals but, in reality, communism (not liberalism) is hard left and authoritarian.

What I said is a simple truth; the right seeks to discriminate and an intolerance of discrimination is simply a matter of human decency.

If you think discrimination is okay and that objection to that discrimination is not, then the 'brainwashing' you speak of is on your side.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@fazer1k You seem to live in a bubble and echo chamber where you just talk and listen to those who agree with you. As far as your references to "decency", it is newspeak.
I refer to George Orwell:
Newspeak is the fictional language in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, written by George Orwell. It is a controlled language created by the totalitarian state Oceania as a tool to limit freedom of thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace. Any form of thought alternative to the party’s construct is classified as "thoughtcrime".
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@laotzu92 Clearly you're wrong - I'm talking to you and you aren't agreeing with me.

I take it you can't challenge what I said about the differences in intolerance with logical argument, as you haven't done so.

Freedom - the right challenges that because discrimination restricts someone's freedom.

Self expression - the right restricts that too via discrimination.

Individuality - again, discrimination doesn't allow people to be anything other than 'inferior' individuals.

Peace - Discrimination by the right works against a peaceful environment and just causes hostility and even wars.

Great examples.

@laotzu92 You'll no doubt be aware that Orwell went to fight in the Spanish civil war against Franco...For the Communists?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Which is important because ...... @HerKing
HerKing · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson ...Because the right wingers always seem to default to Orwell as their champion to somehow bolster their position that none right wing thinking is the downfall of all mankind. Yet Orwell wasn't in fact sympathetic to that theory. What the Trump cult either don't know or care to see is that if he could, Trump would declare himself a supreme ruler, in a similar model to the Philippines, Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Turkey, even NK, which is why he warms to such authoritarian and brutal rulers...He detests democracies, especially now he's POTUS; Sure the democratic principle got him where he is, but now he's there he has no use for it, it has served its purpose.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Interesting. You read the President’s mind of you? I’ve never been an Orwell fan. Seems like a smug know it all. However as part of what you elitists would consider part of the non intelligent middle class moderate Americans what would I know. @HerKing
HerKing · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson Elitists? Oh you flatter; My Father's father was a coal miner from aged 14 until he was 64, dead at 67 with the effects of spending his life down a mine..My mother's dad fought in the first world war in France, survived that, took himself through night school to train to be an engineer. Hardly the stock of elitism..Whereas your boy Trump has never even got his hands dirty on anything approaching hard work. He was also very well connected enough to dodge the draft for Vietnam five times...Who is elite again?

As for reading Trump's mind...It's easy..whatever he says is either the opposite of the truth or soon will be. Do you imagine he knows the difference between lies and truth, or just says whatever it is he thinks will make him appear good? Why do you think he does lie (and provably so) all the time?
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@HerKing Your ID certainly sounds elitist, royal even.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@laotzu92 It was a play on words.. How do you know there isn't a name in there? But that aside.. I'm far less elitist than Trump and his family..The exception might be his current wife and youngest son. The rest are troughing pigs.
SW-User
Elitist is code for educated and not greedy fucktards. @HerKing
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@HerKing I've made my points with civility. If you want to team up with Samantha bee and Michelle Wolf and reduce discussion to name-calling, all I can say is it is contemptible.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@laotzu92 Name calling? Who am I calling names? Should I take a cue from Trump? He's quite good at it. Or don't you count that?
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@HerKing "troughing pigs"
HerKing · 61-69, M
@laotzu92 You're correct...I apologise to porcines everywhere. They're also far more intelligent than anything that is an offspring of Trump.

The case rests m'lud.

JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Its New speak not news speak @laotzu92
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@JimboSaturn If you look again, I did not write "news speak". I wrote "newspeak", which is one word in Orwell's writing.
