Who makes the best laptop computer?

I have a Dell, and I'm not happy with it. It's not even a year old, and it overheats and freezes up periodically. I sent it in for repairs twice, and it still has the same problems.

Dell and Lenovo seem to be the best manufactures. I wouldn't recommend HP.

Sorry you had a bad experience with Dell, I usually have good luck with them.
@SumKindaMunster Dell is more of a hit or miss
SomeIrishPerson · 31-35, M
I've only owned 2. One was an HP Pavilion and my current is a Lenovo Thinkpad. Both have been excellent.

I'm sure other companies make good ones too, but I would recommend those to anyone.
@SomeIrishPerson I've had HP's before and always had problems. 😕

@MsSwan
I wonder if I just got lucky with mine 😅 I don't use enough different laptops to make comparisons.

What sort of problems did they have?
@SomeIrishPerson I can't remember exactly what was happening because it was years ago. I think they just seemed to burn out quickly. They didn't last long.

I currently have an MSI. It has been problem free and works great. Seems like quality control is mixed with laptops, especially on the budget models

That’s a difficult question to answer as each company has recently churned out a shambles recently. I would probably buy a HP next. I used to swear by Toshiba in the 2010s but they let things slide.

I like my Mac I’ve had it since 2003 still works great (but I lost the charger) I got a newer one in 2021 but it got stolen

I had an HP switched to DELL...its all about what CPU and other chips are inside..mine has a CD/DVD player

I have a Lenovo. The touchscreen feature is bomb 👌🏻
@Lilymoon I have a touch screen on mine too. 🙂
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
@Lilymoon Great choice
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I've never actually owned a laptop personally. They always have Dell computers at my work and they seem ok, no problems.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
I swear by Dell, I've never had a problem with PC or Laptops made by them
@FreeSpirit1 Maybe I got a lemon. 🍋

lpthehermit · 56-60, M
i have a 2 year old large screen ASUS laptop. i hate the touchpad!! my only complaint.
@lpthehermit Why? What's wrong with the touch pad?
lpthehermit · 56-60, M
@MsSwan it is extremely finicky and highlight everything on screen blue, then wont respond to my commands. it has a mind of its own

HP Omen ...my lenovo was so bad i had to get rid of it, my Asus has been glitchy since i bought it 10 years ago
I’ve only ever had a Samsung and an Acer…
Bowenw · 61-69, M
Happy with my current Lenovo and MacBook.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Acer, but that`s just my choice
@Degbeme I contacted them a third time, and they wanted me to send it in again for repairs. I asked them if they could just replace it and they said no.

I had a Dell before this, and it was great! 🤷
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@MsSwan If the repair people can`t fix it, they should replace it. 🤨
@Degbeme I know!
Probably Lenovo or ASUS, but I suppose Apple and MSi are pretty good too
urbancowboy · 56-60, M
Lenovo, it worked well for me
If dell - latitude series
Lenovo - ThinkPad
Acer - predator
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
do you know what hardwares you have on there? and do you have windows 11?
@FreestyleArt It's a Dell Inspiron 15, and it has Windows 11.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
@MsSwan Go to settings. click on system, and then click "About" to see what kind of hardwares you have.

Like VRams. Grphic Card or CPU's.

also what GHz can it run?
Where exactly the laptop is placed or where exactly do you use it?
@Royricky09 Yes, I scan for viruses.

Not sure about the CPU. I run the Dell optimization tools but I'm not sure if it's scanning for the CPU. I'll have to look into that and the fan speed.
@MsSwan you can right click on bottom Taskbar and click on TaskManager, that will show you the CPU, hard drive, memory and network utilization.

Also, check the exact physical location on laptop where it heats up.
@Royricky09 Ok, thanks

HP are pretty good
@Matt85 I had 2 and they didn't last long.
Northwest · M
MacbookPro, or whatever you can afford.
@Northwest The current MacBook Air models are arguably the best laptops you can get and are remarkably inexpensive (for Apple).

Amy87 · 36-40, F
Dell is the worse, Sony or HP is the way to go..
@Amy87 I don't like HP. I had 2 and they didn't last long.
@Amy87 Sony makes really bad laptops lmao
