Where exactly the laptop is placed or where exactly do you use it?
@Royricky09 I keep it on my coffee table. I also keep it on my lap, which I know you're not supposed to do. I used to keep my previous Dell on my lap all the time with NO problems.
@MsSwan perfect...
Do scan for viruses and CPU utilization. It shouldn't be more than 10% in idle state.
Also check the CPU fan speed... It gets reduced by dust and in most of the cases, due to cat, dog hair... It's quite common.
Within 1 year, it is highly unlikely that its a hardware issue.

@Royricky09 Yes, I scan for viruses.
Not sure about the CPU. I run the Dell optimization tools but I'm not sure if it's scanning for the CPU. I'll have to look into that and the fan speed.

@MsSwan you can right click on bottom Taskbar and click on TaskManager, that will show you the CPU, hard drive, memory and network utilization.
Also, check the exact physical location on laptop where it heats up.

@Royricky09 Ok, thanks
