My mom has a parrot and a guinea pig. The parrot tries really hard to communicate with her, mimicking her squeaks and chatter. The guinea pig wants to be left alone to eat snacks and watch tv. 🤷🏻♀️
IndianaJoes · M
@Colonelmustardseed maybe the parrot should start trying more scientific tests on the guinea pig.

yep!

My cats tolerate each other because I ask them to.😻😻 Neither one cares much for other animals, but they are both kind to the aging, blind, dog.

Two poodles and a Norwegian Forest Cat, all share food bowls, play, romp and take turns in Ninjaing each other

The dog and cat cohabitate peacefully but I wouldn't say they're buddies.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
It's complicated, we were more or less in good terms but recently added a new kitten which has kind of disrupted the delicate balance. Work in progress.

Most of the time, pippin the dog loves boo cat more, but he's super jealous of her!
IndianaJoes · M
We just love each other.

@IndianaJoes "Dogs are so invasive!"😼
IndianaJoes · M
@UnderLockDown I think these two like to keep it warm and fuzzy.
IndianaJoes · M
@IndianaJoes I think this is a feline version of a thrill Ride

Sometimes the parakeets get into a little fuss and I have to go straighten them out. I tell them when I am leaving the house to be good and not to fight.
PhoenixPhail · M
@cherokeepatti How do you know they've complied once you leave the house? Do you set up a camera?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail nope but they’ve kind of outgrown fussing at each other now.
IndianaJoes · M
@cherokeepatti oh yeah, I'm sure boo boo and you know who just talk it out. Hahaha
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
They tolerate each other... most days. I wish they got along but they really don't seem to like each other much🤷♀️
PhoenixPhail · M
@SlaveEt They may grow to liking each other, eventually. I hope it works out. 😊

@PhoenixPhail
It's been 7 years, so not likely at this point😄

Mostly. All bets are off when they go walkies. Bring a rain coat.

We just got a new kitten yesterday, needless to say, our other cat doesn't like the new kitten, but he is warming up to the new kitten. He only hisses at the new kitten a little bit. For now we keep them separated, bring them in the same room for just a little bit until they get used to each other.
UnderLockDown · M
@calicuz Feed them on opposite sides of a closed door, they can smell each other and hopefully start to associate the other cat with good things. If that doesn't help, go in the other direction, sometimes keeping their feeding spots permanently separate will help eliminate any feelings of competition for resources.
UnderLockDown · M
@calicuz ...and congrats on getting a new kitten.😸
