Yet seriously, cats are so cute and fluffy. I love them.
But I cannot have one since I am allergic to them. I was not always, though. We had cats when I was a child, and I was fine. Then as a teen I developed horrible allergies to cats and dogs.
As a kid, I hated it when I was asked to clean the litter box.
Although I suppose nowadays they have robotic ones to do it.

That could be a good thing for you. Every cat has its own personality though, so take some time to get to know this cat, and to let it get to know you. Once it settles in, the cat won't see itself as your cat; the cat will see you as its human. Hope it works out for both of you.

@QuietEd2019 Makes sense then yea, dogs need to have fun and run around sniffing butts, where cats sleep most of the day.

Go outside, take a long walk. Do it every day for a week or two. If your need a cat one will find you!
