Why do people mention they are right handed?

I’ve never noticed anyone doing that except in response to being asked, or as part of a specific conversation about being left-or right-handed.

I’m a left-handed woman, which makes me about 8% of the population; and what I mentioned are the only circumstances where I bring it up.

Maybe because they associate that with their leanings such as logical reasonings and literature inclinations..etc

I am more impressed when people can tell/deduce my own, espacially without me asking.

I right with my right hand primarily but everything else I do left-handed when I was in school they didn't let you write with your left hand. Otherwise I'd probably be left-handed
