Lots of introverts on SW, for all the reasons. The responses establish that.
No, it's not a mental health condition. It's a personality trait.
chubbysteve99 · 56-60, M
I totally agree with you

Never forget that in recent decades, millions have flooded into “mental health fields.” They all need to get paid. If they cannot find a niche, they create one.
I would far rather be invited into the circle of an introvert than be squashed by the loudness and performance of an extrovert.
It’s not an illness. It’s selectivity.

No it's not a mental condition. I'm introverted, very socially-phobic, very frightened to approach people I like in public, both demi- and sapio-sexual, and have neuro-divergence (which we like to call being 'neuro-spicy').
None of these are 'mental health conditions' especially the last one as it's just an 'alternative normal'.

I used to really worry about what society thought about me but the older you get, the less you care.

Being an individual is not a mental disorder

No being an extrovert is

I don't think so either.

No. That's more or less accepting the brainwashing that's currently going on that everyone needs to be the same. I'm now of a certain age already that I can look back and notice that people behaved totally different before. Then it was about acceptance, now it's more like warfare. Everything is set as if there's a need to choose the right side or otherwise one is even threatened in ones existence. That's yet another one of those false realities that's been bandied about. Trust your own being because that's what it means to be alive.

no its not reslly a social disorder.
There are millions of opinions out there, pretty much everyone has one, whether it is right or it is wrong.
Given the calibre of most people on the planet, no.
Convivial · 26-30, F
As they say, a little bit of knowledge is dangerous and admirably expressed by who ever said that about introverts... You learn more by listening than you do by talking... And I'm just thinking what it would like to be the only introvert in a room full of extroverts all trying to outdo each other🤣
Shytoshow · 61-69, M
Its not a have a very very good friend she is a introvert
Theyitis · 36-40, M
In fact, introverts often even enjoy social interaction, it just drains their energy. They need alone time to recharge.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
I definitely agree with you
Some people are not happy with chatting easily with others and certainly not a mental disorder

No, of course not. 🤠

It's not a disorder, it's not even unusual. Just a way of being a person.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
I'm introverted. I've never heard anyone call it a disorder though.
SouthernGuy1987 · 36-40, M
It's not a social disorder. Being an introvert is very common all over. I'm an intovert and love my peace, quiet and solitude most of the time. I enjoy company sometimes and value my friends greatly ✨
darkknightt · M
It's not, we are just like other people except we prefer to charge ourselves through non social things
bijouxbroussard · F
Not at all.
GoFish · 41-45, F
i think it's a type of shyness probably had over controlling patients or unfavorable past social interactions or something idk
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I am guessing that the people who talk that way have a misunderstanding of what an introvert is.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
One of the superpowers of being an introvert is not caring what other people think.
Jasmine2026 · F
Sounds like a social disorder
turtle777rescuer · 36-40, M
I think it's only a social disorder if you isolate 100% and never want to talk to anyone like those cases of ppl in Japan who never leave their rooms... thats pretty bad level there
No.
