I was not. But it kinda dodging a bullet to not be the cool kid. The rub is that high school is so fleeting You blink and it is gone. Trying to adjust to a bigger world where you are the center of others world is easy if you never were that way.
My first college roommate was a cool kid in high school . Jock, had girlfriends back home was the center of attention. Symbolically like many post high school cool kids (even if not in college) he failed at the transition and fluncked out of college. Could not connect with women on a college campus because they wanted with more well read men.
He couldn't control his drinking, wasn't good enough at sports to play at a college level and no longer had the ride of a jock to help him with his grades. He flunked out his freshman year. I mean I glad he got flunking out over with early but I think his story is really common for cool kids in high school trying to readjust to the real world post high school. A couple of articles on it below:

No. I’ve been warmish all my life. But I don’t care, so there’s that.

I used to put on my sunglasses to watch Maynard G. Krebs on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. He was my hero. I was 9.

I think not. My only claim to cooldom, is that some much younger co-workers have thought I was pretty cool...for an old person. 🙃
(*I do realize that "cooldom" is not an actual word in the dictionary. I do not care.)

No. I don't think think I've ever been cool. Any way, being cool sounds like hard work!
AydenAgoniste · 18-21, M
Nope. I was the shy kid that most people ignored.

@AydenAgoniste
That could be a good thing, too. At least you weren't bothered or bullied for being within yourself.

Same. I could never figure out why other kids had to fight all the time - and yell and scream. I can't ever remember saying "I'm tellin'!!" as a threat because I never got involved. LOL

... then later in life you automatically get that feeling because it's been the norm for so long?

@RenFur Yeah, I always assume malicious intent now.
