Mothman man.

I've got large crows that run across the roof.
They sound like they're wearing work boots.

If it's a regular nightly occurrence, then anything nocturnal is likely. A raccoon, possum, owl, and even a squirrel returning to his nest are possible.
Nyxxx · 22-25, F
@SethGreene531 Well I know it wasn't a possum, I've had them before and they also sound like people walking but with too many legs and a scratching sound from their claws.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
We have a flat roof extension. Often you can hear this thumping on the top. It's magpies actually. They have really heavy feet 😂

The fox who sometimes sleeps up there in the sun is lighter on his feet.

@OldBrit Wood pigeons on our roof make lots of noise .
Nyxxx · 22-25, F

AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
Omg my last job had a rat on the roof. I could hear it crawling up the wall i was standing by the window and heard a scratching scuffling sound go up the wall and then over my head. we called the exterminator and he went up there and said, "He's a big one" that didn't make me feel any better
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti that makes my skin crawl. He saw poop up there thats why he said its a big one . Ugh 😩 there was a low lying branch hanging over the roof thats how they said he climbed up there.
@AngelUnforgiven Then use a silencer...[media=https://youtu.be/bbntZmJifTE]

I've had a bunch of giant vultures land on my roof before and they sounded like grown men walking around up there
Nyxxx · 22-25, F
@MyNameIsHurl It sucks hearing those noises when alone at night.
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
@Nyxxx call the police
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MyNameIsHurl Have you ever heard a woodpecker pounding away at the siding on your house? They sound like a jackhammer.
letshavefun · 51-55, M
When I lived at my previous place, I had maggies and crows on my tin roof, sounding like men in work boots when they ran across it, I didn't know what to think the first time few times that I heard them, I was surprised that they being so small would sound so loud☺
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
My neighbor used to be a cop. When that happened the same old woman used to call the cops claiming UFOs were invading.

Birds.
