When you're deceiving people, yes (like how is hearting the posts of your main account with two of your alts anything but deception and fraud?). When you're lying to people it's all downhill from there with regard to good friendships (or more) that you established with them, before they realized what was happening. It should be extremely obvious to you why this deception breeds distrust and suspicion, if you're honest with at least yourself, if no one else.
And when you establish a pattern of hiding things from someone with whom you are ostensibly close, in parallel with changing the details on what you tell them over time, with the added garnish of being the one to distrust them first ... why on Earth would you ever get offended when they then later sometimes distrust you? How hypocritical can you be?
And in the case of the 8+ account cluster including Morvoren (female) and WintaTheAngle (male), you can see how extra effed up the lack of authenticity and transparency becomes.
How ironic that this is posted in "bad manners." A self-aware person could unravel the projection here.
This place already abounds with catfish, it doesn't need more ways of stifling authenticity, it needs the opposite.
And nothing about transparency hinders your "privacy" either, you still don't have to share any real world details about yourself even if everyone here knew all of your alts were you. And if your professed reason for having alts is only to separate, say, your music posts, your humor posts, your literature posts, your spirituality posts, then why would you have any issue with anyone knowing each channel is still you, if you're not up to anything nefarious or trying to deceive people?
I bet I know who asked this.
(And if I'm wrong, blame the pattern you established, like first telling me your dad died when you were in your teens, and then later revising that to be when you were two years old, as one example of inconsistencies, aside from the straight up and unnecessary lies more recently.)
Moreover, if you have a pattern of having all these alts, why even bother to threaten to "leave SW for good" ... why would anyone believe you, when you're likely to just come back with an alt instead? When you ghosted me for ten months, were you really just here under an alt, instead of the reason you told me? Was your "sister's" account really another of your alts? How is anyone to know? Again, blame the pattern you created, if you're offended by me having the audacity to mirror your own distrust and paranoia at times. I still would like to believe the bulk of what you shared is true, but it's a moot point now.
Another irony was your invocation of the theme of respect. Respect is a two-way street. Deception (and insulting people's intelligence) isn't the path to what you seek.
update:
their recent actions have acknowledged authorship of this question ... and proven that they are still lying as well ... I guess I shouldn't be surprised ... I guess I should've listened to them many months ago when they warned me that relationships with them always end badly ... and I should've heeded the red flag that they were cheating on their offline significant other with me in an emotional affair ... so I am stupid for getting involved with them

@ephemeral I'd be curious as to who you're talking about. But I know you can't share publicly.

Depends on why you have them. I do think the site should be able to connect them, even if only the admins know. So a poster can’t use an alt profile to get around a block.

@jshm2 SW doesn't, and for damn good reason. I think that's one of the things that killed Yahoo! Answers.

Depends what you're using your alts for. Generally speaking, no.

Well depends if they are using the alts as undercover or if they’ve been forced to create more than one account because I got locked out

Don't have any alts .. kinda shady to allow, seems doubtful there is any good behind the reasons people want them

Yes, if half of the replies to their post are from their alt accounts! 🤪
