People who are intellectually disenfranchised get a thrill out of thinking that they are in the small group who is in the know. It is intoxicating to think that NASA fooled the rest of the world, but they cannot be fooled. In addition to being incredibly ego boosting, it gives them an excuse to not dive deeper into something they do not comprehend. They think they are the ones who weren’t fooled, AND they don’t have to study the matter any deeper, because why study something that is false?

I have heard it was a hoax. That it was recorded in a TV studio. The man who wrote the article said the spaceship looked like a fort kids built in a backyard. It kind of did. I wasn't born yet when it happened so I have no strong opinion either way.
