There is a setting to block content from under 16, but also over 36. That made me legit lol. 36 seems like such a random age

"Privacy Settings > Contact and Content Settings"
varies between user accounts, and is dependent on the subject user's stated age.

It is done this way for simplicity, as well to avoid accidental over-restricting to the point where the user risks receiving little to no content and communication.

It makes sense... if you are a minor, then you don't want some 37 year old hitting on you anymore than I don't want my feed filled with teenagers posting about how hard school is these days.

I probably left school before you were even born - I'm not sure how I can contribute constructively to that conversation...

I prefer to get to know people as a person rather than just as random jokes and memes. Sure, they're funny - but most of them don't sustain friendship long term for me.

Definitely helps for sure. One of my favorite features. Not sure how I have it set but it also helps like where I can see the messages before I respond. Look into it. For real it's a lifesaver.

Maybe the algorithm thinks that's the group close to being twice your age but I'm not sure. Mine suggests blocking under 18 & over 56 which I kinda find random too. Lol

It’s probably because 36 is the start of a new age category. There should be an option to block all age categories.

I realize you're still very young, and the council of elders will probably be upset if I shared this information. As I am approaching my 36th birthday council elders have made me aware of "The Process" At 36 years old I will start to say things like "in my day", and "Kids nowadays", and frequently complain about the latest pop music. I can also expect a quick decline in my understanding of technology and its uses. All these things and more make me understand why someone might want to filter out content from those over 36.

I wouldnt block content by age. Alot of people dont even pos their real age and if someone asks a legit question or has something to talk about on a public site does it really matter if there 18 or 45? If you dont like a post just scroll passed it.
