There is a setting to block content from under 16, but also over 36. That made me legit lol. 36 seems like such a random age

"Privacy Settings > Contact and Content Settings"
varies between user accounts, and is dependent on the subject user's stated age.

It is done this way for simplicity, as well to avoid accidental over-restricting to the point where the user risks receiving little to no content and communication.

It makes sense... if you are a minor, then you don't want some 37 year old hitting on you anymore than I don't want my feed filled with teenagers posting about how hard school is these days.

I probably left school before you were even born - I'm not sure how I can contribute constructively to that conversation...

I prefer to get to know people as a person rather than just as random jokes and memes. Sure, they're funny - but most of them don't sustain friendship long term for me.
