Why don’t I vote in US elections…

Requirements are dictated by policy makers and your policy makers are elected into office by unfortunately ignorant partisan Americans. It’s a universal truth that all shit rolls downhill.
Ignorance wins the election, policy makers make ignorant decisions, those ignorant decisions become stupid requirements that aren’t worth human lives. But then that’s what we have to execute on. And that happens all the time. All The F@cking TIME!!!

But what do I even know…? This is just the opinion of one of 8.025+ billion persons on this planet 🌎 (nothing special, nothing remarkable, not even remotely unique…)

@RunTheJulz I have voted in EVERY election since Reagan's first landslide victory. I wanted to vote. I don't get any sense of moral superiority over those who do not vote, whether they didn't like the choices or were just too lazy to stand in the long lines. The Constitution applies to all, voters and non voters.

@Reason10 I agree with you that no superiority exists in the choice I have made to not vote. I don’t believe that I have made the only correct decision and that everyone else should do as I do. That’s why I titled this post as “Why I don’t vote…” and not “Why everyone shouldn’t vote…”. We as Americans are fortunate enough to have the rights that we have today and the freedom to choose how we want to excise our rights. Not excising is also a right. We have the freedom to choose not to choose. I only believe that I am the one who knows what is best for myself. And when others try to “prove” that they know what is best or even what is better for me then I know, I can’t help but wonder why they think this way. It seems like they have been programmed and are trying to do what was done to them to someone else and that is so ironic that they would believe that there is only one way to act if you are patriotic or if you’re in support of America. It’s as if they can’t separate the act of being in support of the country from being in support of the current government and their chosen alliance and allegiance to a particular regime, and its ideology. I think that it’s really good evidence of their own cognitive dissonance and their inability to distinguish between a stereotype and the reality that things are much more nuanced and complex and that people who have different beliefs are therefore “the enemy” and they go into a defensive tone or even offensive mode and display signs of emotional distress and emotionally motivated behaviors.
I understand that not everyone has the ability to put a situation into a vacuum to examine it without having their own beliefs influence their perception and perspective. I think that using a probability analysis approach is also not something that everyone can grasp but I think it could and would help them to understand why someone else has the beliefs and values being expressed and shared in a post like this for example.
If I could do anything with my personal beliefs and my perspective, it would be to at the very least give them a chance to examine what else is out there and how heterogeneous thinking can benefit them and society as a whole. This is why the country that they claim to represent, support and care about more than I do (for example) exists.
