Why are we having Mid Term elections?

We were told two years ago that if Trump was elected we would not have any more elections.

Were we lied to? We were also told everyone would lose their Medicare and Medicaid. Was that
a lie too? Oh yeah, and Trump was going to get rid of Social Security.

If I didn't know better I would think Democrats were lying just to scare people.

It was Trump that said Americans wouldn't have to vote in elections anymore. He intended to be leader for life. Republicans rarely get their facts straight. Especially Trump.

CNN: Trump hasn’t explicitly said he plans to cancel elections, and he said last month he would “probably not” run for a third term, which the Constitution forbids anyway.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker claimed Sunday that Trump’s threat to send troops into cities like Chicago was part of the plan.

“The other aims are that he’d like to stop the elections in 2026 or, frankly, take control of those elections,” the Democratic governor said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

I thought the Democrats were supposed to be smart, and educated. There are grown
