Biden Bans drilling in the Gulf

One has to wonder why now? after 4 years in office. My idea is that he is trying to
keep energy prices high, which will keep prices high on everything. He knows Trump
will lower prices on energy by reduced regulations, and more drilling.

Biden does NOT want the people to see how easy it is for a POTUS to lower energy costs.
So by banning drilling in the gulf, he will slow Trump down, while making up reasons that
energy costs will eventually come down under Trump.

Newsom was able to throw another .45 cents per gallon tax on California gas, to keep his
gas prices high. Biden did not have enough time to do that.

There are multiple dimensions to the Biden energy policies. Look at what states are the oil producing or transfer states and their political leanings, and how undermining the economies of those states would affect elections there.

There is a common thread to Biden’s/Democrats border policies and energy policies: politics, and the authority to govern. Their goal is to get more people to vote Democrat and one way to do that is to undermine the economies of states that don’t vote Democrat.

They can also accomplish that by altering the formulas for apportioning members of congress. Remember, the US census counts EVERYONE, not just citizens, and that census determines how many members of congress each state gets, or don’t get. So where do illegal immigrants go once they cross the border? To sanctuary states and cities, where Democrats welcome them with open arms. For every million illegals they can lure the reward is one extra seat in congress.

So look at Biden’s energy and immigration policies … and the calendar. 5 years until the next census and 20 million illegals, and Biden drilling restrictions that may take years to reverse.
Lets realize what we’re seeing from Biden, is most likely him being told by his handlers what to do in his final days in the WH.
If you saw his rant against the media the other day you could see he is not mentally stable. Definitely not “fit”.
His handlers are the hopefuls who want certain things that at some point they THINK will hurt Trump and serve their purposes.
They take advantage of Biden!s mental shortcomings but let him be the face on these actions.

@soar2newhighs fjb will say anything and sign anything. He is incompetent to understand anything. Been that way for past 4 years. Media and administration covered for him

@jshm2 Sure Trump can't just lower prices. He could raise prices like Newsom did, by passing
new taxes and regulations.

Trump will lower prices on energy by reducing regulations, and changing policies that effect
energy production. I'm sure as a Trump hater ( Democrat ) you would like to see high
energy prices for the poor and fixed income folks, because you think it will fix the climate,
right?

It’s like Biden is scattering nails in the roadway to recovery from the mess the Democrats created.

Hopefully the Trump administration will pick up some of those nails and use them on Democrat political coffins.
oldguy73 · 70-79, M
yup, biden wants to make life hell for trump, giving money away, free 4 billion free money to college students,trump will inherit a mess, which is what the f democrats want
Aysel · F
@oldguy73 He's truly doing everything he can right now. Isn't it a shame he didn't devote as much energy when it mattered?

Bathhouse Barry banned drilling in Anwar too.
To put it in perspective: Anwar is to Alaska as a postage stamp in the endzone is to a football field

Joe Biden is one of the worst Presidents in history. We need Trump to make things better
DogMan · 61-69, M
@swirlie Do YOU know that most people have Ghost writers, write their books, based on
what you tell them to write?

Now maybe, you are insinuating that Trump published a book, with his name on it, but
did not know what was in the book. Is that what you are trying to say? Because Trumps
words, thoughts, and accomplishments, are in those books.

Should we ban these type books? It would put thousands of writers out of business,
and give us thousands of crappy books. Wouldn't you agree? Never mind,
I know you are not allowed to answer questions.

Do you have a job, other than this one? I'm semi-retired, which means I come into
the office a few days a week, have some meeting, and screw around after 50 years
of fulltime employment. How about you? How does a young gal like yourself
spend so much time on social media? Are you supposed to be working?

Or does someone take care of you, and all your needs?

@DogMan
You sound like a guilty man who's attempting to defend his incompetence.

Did you know that Donald J. Trump has suffered from ADS (Attention Deficit Syndrome) since he was a teenager? That means he can't focus his attention on anything for more than about 2 minutes before he forgets what the issue at hand is.

Who is telling him what to do?
Remember he was not able to go to court over the documents.He is not well.

Just trying to put up speed bumps for the incoming Administration. It's sour grapes. 🍇

Biden did not actually 'ban' oil drilling, he merely cancelled all permits and government regulation which had previously authorized drilling.

The reason Biden did that specifically, was so that Trump could not start drilling for oil in that region since regulations were already in place that would have allowed Trump to start massive drilling operations to occur.

Those oil reserves however, are considered America's 'Emergency Oil Reserves' which don't otherwise get tapped-into for day to day consumer demand.

The reason Biden did this was to slow Trump's ambitions way down when it comes Trump's massive oil drilling expansion, which now means that if Trump wants to drill for oil, the regulatory process must be started all over again which will involve establishing oversight committees and voting in Congress etc, etc, which will take months to complete if not years to bring to fruition, assuming Trump gets the required votes to pass regulatory laws that would enable drilling to actually occur.

By the time that any of that happened, Trump's Term as POTUS will have ended and Trump's ambition to "drill baby, drill" will not ever occur.

@Heartlander
Who said I was ignoring anything at all, heartlander?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@swirlie

:) simply drawing attention to the massive investment and $billions at risk on what seems like political games, added to the misery inflicted on the millions of workers.
swirlie · F
@Heartlander
OH, I see! Thanks for unpacking that one for me. I would never have deduced any of that myself from what you'd previously stated. 🙂
Gas prices are already historically low.
swirlie · F
@DogMan
To think that policies and regulation determines energy pricing, is to also believe in price-fixing.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@swirlie If I tacked on dozens of new regulations, and policies, concerning your business, so
much so that you had to hire more attorneys, and more staff to deal with all that shit, would it
affect your bottom line? And would the public absorb any of it?

During the pandemic and after, my company saw manufacturers, raise prices, and then shipping
companies raised prices.
We had surcharges coming out of the woodwork, do you think I raised our contract margins?
and retail prices?
DogMan · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom Historically low gas prices now? WTF? The average price for a gallon of
gas in 2020 was 2.17 The average price now is 3.38 per gallon. FYI that is over 50% higher.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Sadly for him his ban will be as effective as a screen door on a submarine. An order by a president can be undone by an order from a president.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 Trump's motto is drill baby drill
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@akindheart I have to smile at legislation or presidential decrees (royal decree) that can simply be changed by the next session of the legislature assembly or by the next president. No president can tie the hands of those who will follow him in office.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
You need another antenna on your tin foil hat, and all will be clear.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@fanuc2013 do we have a shortage of jobs? What is the unemployment rate?
@trollslayer If you want true numbers, upwards of 20%, for Minorities, closer to almost 60%. The "official numbers" only reflect those that are receiving benefits, not those that dropped off or under employed with part time jobs.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@NativePortlander1970 how do you define “under employed”? Someone who thinks they deserve to earn more? Perhaps they are not ambitious?

Energy prices are as low as they were when Convicted Felon Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump shut down the entire economy and there was no use for energy.

@3Dogmatic True, but he is agreeing with them, and signing off on it.

@3Dogmatic And Trump is Musk’s puppet. It’s like George Soros being part of a Democratic administration.

100 to 1 Vegas odds Trump will reverse that ban on day one.
@NativePortlander1970 I’m guessing for
every action Joe takes in the next 6 days; might all be met with an executive order that reverses them.
But as I’ve said previously, things he has done or may do up until he is out of office are probably his owners telling him what to do. His name and face on his owner’s actions.
