Biden Bans drilling in the Gulf

One has to wonder why now? after 4 years in office. My idea is that he is trying to
keep energy prices high, which will keep prices high on everything. He knows Trump
will lower prices on energy by reduced regulations, and more drilling.

Biden does NOT want the people to see how easy it is for a POTUS to lower energy costs.
So by banning drilling in the gulf, he will slow Trump down, while making up reasons that
energy costs will eventually come down under Trump.

Newsom was able to throw another .45 cents per gallon tax on California gas, to keep his
gas prices high. Biden did not have enough time to do that.

Gas prices are already historically low.

@LeopoldBloom Compared to what?

@DogMan
Gas prices have absolutely nothing to do with the President of the United States, DogMan. You seem to be of the impression that the President has more power than he actually has.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@swirlie he wants the president to have more power than he has. This is anti-conservative mindset.

@trollslayer
The Republican/MAGA Party cannot have it both ways. They either want government powers reduced which also means a reduction in the power of the POTUS, or they want the POTUS to have uncompromising powers which means the government has uncompromising powers as well.

@DogMan gas prices never really went up around here after COVID. I think I paid about the same
DogMan · 61-69, M
@swirlie Swirlie, come on, you know that policies, and regulation, set forth by the POTUS
has a great deal to do with the prices of oil and gas. Not directly of course, but indirectly
without a doubt.
swirlie · F
@DogMan
Not directly and not indirectly either. That's why you don't understand the commodities marketplace. Oil and gas are commodities. If you think your new President will have influence on either, then you really did drink the kool-aid like the rest of your buddies did!
DogMan · 61-69, M
@swirlie So you don't believe that policies, and regulations, affect prices? 😯 Your joking, right?
swirlie · F
@DogMan
To think that policies and regulation determines energy pricing, is to also believe in price-fixing.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@swirlie If I tacked on dozens of new regulations, and policies, concerning your business, so
much so that you had to hire more attorneys, and more staff to deal with all that shit, would it
affect your bottom line? And would the public absorb any of it?

During the pandemic and after, my company saw manufacturers, raise prices, and then shipping
companies raised prices.
We had surcharges coming out of the woodwork, do you think I raised our contract margins?
and retail prices?

@LeopoldBloom Historically low gas prices now? WTF? The average price for a gallon of
gas in 2020 was 2.17 The average price now is 3.38 per gallon. FYI that is over 50% higher.
