Emphatically against starting any wars. Defense against war is what should be taken.

This is the difference between both Palestine and Iran in comparison to Ukraine. Ukraine is a defense. The other two are not.

Was Hamas attack against Israel justified? EMPHATICALLY NO! It's still not a justification for Israel to attack Palestinians.

Same applies to China against India. And India against Pakistan.

A good offense is a bad defense.

bowman81 · M
Iran has been at war with the USA for 47 years. We tried negotiating, bribery, and ignoring them. Now we fight back. It's about time!
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt fuck that. Send them john kerry as a war criminal.
@AthrillatheHunt So you don't like the fact that Obama complied with the International Court of Justice in the Hague. What's so wrong with the rule of law?? Also, complying with that court may have been part of the JCPOA deal based on the timing. Obama made the JCPOA in 2015; that payment happened in early 2016. Remember Iran signed onto the deal to get relief from international sanctions. The rest of the world got the benefit on nuclear nonproliferation.

BTW, I've seen plenty of right-wingers claim the 2015 JCPOA deal was a phony deal. I've responded to them with summaries of the terms of the deal, including limiting enrichment to 3.67%, limits on stockpiles, and limits on centrifuges. I've posted much of this info above, but lemme know if you need me to copy & paste it here.

The limits were designed so if Iran broke the treaty they'd still be at least two years from weapons level enrichment and quantities. Also the "snapback" provisions allowed the sanctions to be re-imposed if the inspectors weren't satisfied. If you think the JCPOA was a phony deal, lemme know what you think the treaty or the inspectors were missing.

Remember, the deal was made in 2015; tRump blew it up in 2018. The reports between 2015 and into 2018 show Iran's degree of compliance before tRump blew it up. You can read their reports at
https://www.iaea.org/newscenter/focus/iran/iaea-and-iran-iaea-board-reports
Just look for reports from 2016-2019 titled
Verification and Monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in Light of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015)

Go ahead, look over the reports and tell me if you really think the JCPOA was phony deal.

I am sick of all these wars
I think it was stupid and totally unnecessary. Purely a Trump ego move because he couldn’t accept that his predecessor had brokered an agreement that was working. And now people are dying who should never have had to be deployed, sent by the draft dodger who bragged that he wouldn’t involve our country in any wars ! 😞
I'm all for regime change, but attacking without a plan isn't the way to accomplish that. And even with a plan, the USA doesn't have a great track record of regime changes.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@NerdyPotato Are they supposed to advertise their plan? That doesn't seem.like the thing to do!
@fanuc2013 of course not in detail, but it would have been nice if they had agreed on a goal before going in and were able to tell us what would constitute as being finished.
CleverGirl · 26-30, FNew
Trump was in a sense right when he described it as being a holy war. His presidency was largely bought by Zionists and ultra right wing Christians. Big oil, too. I'm against this war because the best move is to reeducate all participants.
CleverGirl · 26-30, FNew
@CleverGirl My first downvote! Some anonymous dummy.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@CleverGirl no sweat on the down vote. Undoubtedly an America hater.
emiliya · 26-30, F
@CleverGirl What is reeducate? Were they educated and it didn't work? Or were they never educated?

How does it stop wars?
helenS · 36-40, F
The Iranian exile community in my country celebrated the start of the war.
They are sitting on packed suitcases now, waiting for the mullahs to hang from the gallows.
Being "against war" means the tyrants will rule the world.

@helenS You said it right, at the beginning of the war. Those people wanted to be liberated from the regime, and instead all what they're getting is the threat of being annihilated indiscriminately along with the rest.
walabby · M
How many Americans here are willing to accept the likely 20,000+ casualties that winning in Iran would entail, and the 20 year occupation of Iran before giving up and withdrawing...?
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
Against. This is the U.S. serving the project of "Greater Israel", which I'm also against.
Adstar · 56-60, M
I do not believe in taking part in any war because of my religious beliefs..

So it does ot matter who is fighting and why they are fighting..
All the wars are fake.
@QuietReverie fake in what sense? Are you saying this war isn't happening? That everything we're being show is just AI?

If you support this war, I hate you.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
I oppose war. This war is particularly heinous because it was started illegally by the ISA (Israeli States of America) to destroy an ancient civilisation. Sadly the people of those two nations who support the war are either uninformed, misinformed, religious bigots or plain evil
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@hippyjoe1955 How do you start a war "legally" ?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@fanuc2013 War is legal if you are responding to direct attack. If you, like the ISA (Israeli States of America) initiate the attacks unprovoked then the war is illegal. You are no better than Hitler attacking Poland.
This regime must fall. Is there a clean diplomatic way of doing it? I fear not. I only support the people of Iran, the brave girls, women and men that defy the dystopian regime. And all the victims of Islamic terrorists.
Subsumedpat · 41-45, M
What choice do we have now, if we just leave they will eventually build back up and once they have a nuke they will send it to us for what we have done to them in the last year.
specman · 51-55, M
I think it’s a necessity for the security of the world. I don’t think this war will end the potential threat unless genocide is done. I don’t support genocide for the record. This war will just at best suppress the threat Iran poses.
specman · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 Iran started the necessity of the war by funding , hosting and participating in terror.

@hippyjoe1955 wrong. It’s like I said. You just want to blame it on Israel

No, it’s an abomination. Unless you like murdering innocent Iranian civilians, of course. The US is no better than Iran.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
Against a stupidly planned war
@plungesponge EXACTLY!
tRump, 2026-03-16: “Look what happened, in the last two weeks. They weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. Those missiles were set to go after them. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked!”

Definitively against. Iran was in compliance with the deal before Trump tore it up. None of this was even remotely necessary.

War suggests a declaration by at least one side. Police action maybe, wasn’t that the term used last time for a failed attempt to change a regime?

Iran as it existed in January 2026 was acceptable for all the reasons we all know. It is lucky to get the cease fire deal. If it reneges, it is goodbye Iranian regime and freedom for Persians.
@jackjjackson freedom for Persians? Trump literally threatened to annhilate all 90 million Persians yesterday

Put down the crack pipe
emiliya · 26-30, F
@jackjjackson I don't think you understand. It was the Shah, the lover of the west, who decided to call Persia Iran. It was not Khomeini or Khamenei.

He did this because Persians were only one Iranian people. And he wanted to unite the country. Before the Persian Cyrus the Great, it was the Medes. Several Iranian groups roamed Iran back then. Iranians are closest to northern Indians, hence the name Iran, from Aryan. One went to northern India and the other settled in Iran.
Today the majority of citizens residing in Iran are Persians. @emiliya
