@Monalisasmith86 overpriced isn’t based on a high or low dollar amount . A dollar coffee that sells for $20-$100 is overpriced , same as bitcoin . Doesn’t matter who can or can’t afford it .

@jackrabbit10 Yes it’s ridiculous. Even more so are these billing companies that hospitals hire that start sending you estimates of how much they are trying to charge you and how much you owe. They are completely out of control. I have very good insurance through my employer. Recently had hip repair surgery. The billing company sent me a total cost of over a hundred thousand dollars. They wanted me to pay 20% besides my copay. Thankfully my insurance responded quickly and after negotiations my insurance sent me information saying total costs after discounts was three thousand two hundred dollars. My cost out of pocket was two hundred ninety two dollars. I hell of a big difference. It should be illegal for them to estimate anything and try to collect outrageous amounts before negotiating with insurance for a final bill. I just got a refund of two hundred fifty dollars from a surgery center about my daughter that overcharged me almost two years ago. Where’s my interest??
