He's filing an appeal because of course he is. He's facing money laundering charges in a separate case too. The "We Build the Wall" con. That one has a max sentence of between 5 and 15 years. And it's not looking good for him. He WILL serve time.

could it be the crooked judges are following the law and allowing him to remain free based on the appeal he no doubt filed?

@independentone what do you base that on?
independentone · M
@Pretzel just my opinion. If people have money, they go free, if they don't, they are in prison immediately.
independentone · M
@Pretzel I actually showed up for jury duty once about 30 years ago, and watched some tin horn judge giving orders and acting like a total douche. I knew then and there I would never serve on a jury. I'm not good at taking orders.

He'll be fine. I'm sure every jail has a white power gang he can join for protection. He needs to be accustomed to jail tattoos.
Letting him appeal before serving his time doesnt surprise me as much as only fining him $6500.

They're just setting the stage for when they fine Hunter $6500 for his antics.
"See...? Equal justice under the law."

@Thinkerbell lol. Nichols was a Trump appointee and hardly a "they" and I just, really, really don't think the world is a binary us vs them thing.

It's the "haves" vs the "have-nots," and even among the "haves," they don't like it when one of their own spills the beans.
Otherwise, let the corruption roll, baby; just don't mention it.

He's got to go on tour whining about how "the deep state" is persecuting "patriots.". Ka-ching!

he is entitled to an appeal, and can afford bail. If he were any other regular person, he would be taken to jail!
independentone · M
@samueltyler2 he can appeal from jail, lock the dude up
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
Pretty common for white collar criminals. They don't always go straight to prison.

Well usually they set a date for u to turn yourself in
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Part of it is it’s such a short sentence, hopefully his appeal will quickly be denied. He really has nothing to appeal with.

I think anyone with money and can afford the best lawyers regardless of persuasion gets away with crimes .
