He's filing an appeal because of course he is. He's facing money laundering charges in a separate case too. The "We Build the Wall" con. That one has a max sentence of between 5 and 15 years. And it's not looking good for him. He WILL serve time.
@Ynotisay If I'm not mistaken, technically he's taken into custody, but the judge can "save time", by approving an appeal, and order him released pending the approved appeal.
