SCOTUS sides with fossil fuel industry. I guess embryos are important but a habitable planet not so much..... Birdie

I guess embryos are important but having a habitable planet for them to grow up on is not.

These activists judges are interpreting the Constitution exactly the way the heritage foundation, which recommended them, knew they would.

As heat causes train derailments and birds to fall dead from the sky.

Living in a fantasy world, all of them. They think if they ignore a problem it'll just go away, meanwhile they're stifling any attempt to get off fossil fuels and switch to cleaner energy. More examples of this country going backwards while others move forward.

@SW-User It is almost as if @SumKindaMunster enjoys being objectively terrible.

Reading the opinion, it reads like a typical Supreme Court decision. It's about who has authority and apparently the way the law was written does not give the EPA authority, nor the Executive branch the authority to dictate plant emissions in the manner in which they believed.

It's Congresses job and trying to go around that isn't going to work. It's Executive overreach. The court did its job.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@SumKindaMunster You know the Republicans in Congress will obstruct any environmental regulation, as they are in denial of the current crisis.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@CorvusBlackthorne They have been bribed by the fossil fuel industry to look the other way as the planet cooks. They don't give a damn about our children, grandchildren or future generations. And they call themselves religious. What a joke. There religion is money. They need to be cast out from the temple.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@CorvusBlackthorne I know that. Here's what you don't know. Then Democrats don't care either and have no intention of doing anything meaningful about it.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
I guess embryos are a very important. But having a habitable planet for them to be born into is not.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@sunsporter1649 There are now Free States where a woman is free to give birth. And there are not so free states where a woman is forced to carry to term. A gift by definition cannot be forced. In many states a woman has lost her right to give birth.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@GrinNude Oh really?
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@sunsporter1649 unfortunately yes

If you want to stop having energy sapping heat waves every summer for the rest of your life then the US and the rest of the world needs to move away from its reliance on fossil fuels. They are the main cause of the increased rate of climate change.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Slade Sorry, my friend, it's global average temperature that is important. Weather forecasters keep repeating that. I would think by now it would have sunk in. Are you still a climate denier? That's no longer the Republica party line. You have a lot of catching up to do, my friend. The party line now is that climate change is a problem but it's not a crisis.
Slade · 56-60, M
@GrinNude Climate Denier? HAHAHAHA!

This hoax really is a religion. PT Barnum was right🥳
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Slade I wouldn't call it a religion. But there certainly is a spiritual aspect to caring for Mother Earth and the other species that share this planet with us.
So many "important" things to release to the media from SCOTUS decisions lately, huh? If I was a conspiracy guy I might think all of this at once was to take our eyes off of hearings exposing a traitor and a coup.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@anythingoes477 good point...

@Slade What an odd thing to bring up. 🤔
GrinNude · 61-69, C
Having a habitable planet for our children, grandchildren and future Generations is more important than fossil fuel industry profits.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@GrinNude It isn't. But you can't violate the existing laws in doing so.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@GrinNude It's sad that such a statement is considered radical leftist nonsense.

@Fukfacewillie Money doesn't talk. It swears.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@GrinNude And it's protected speech, too.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Of course they did. Why would they make a ruling that has anything to do with common sense or the real world at this stage in their existence? They are now officially the judicial arm of the Republican Party.

@LordShadowfire The one good outcome of this is it's making more people realize the SCOTUS is just another political, partisan entity like any other and isn't "sacred".

@Quimliqer Doesn't matter, Shitliqer. You're deliberately changing the subject.
GrinNude · 61-69, C
@Quimliqer Are you opposed to having a habitable planet for our children, grandchildren and Future generations? Or are fossil fuel industry profits more important?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@GrinNude I think it's funny that Shitliqer's profile picture is a painting called "Herd Quitters", which would seem to indicate that he values independent thinkers, yet he is trapped in the herd mentality created by the fossil fuel industry.
