It depends somewhat on the definition. Do you mean deadly. Yes, there are, but, as a former toxicologist, i choose not to broadcast the names for obvious reasons.

@samueltyler2 Oh yes, deadly suggestions would be appreciated.....uh....I mean just for knowledge of course.

Just tell your friend to go out and lick or touch what he is curious about, and the plant will give him the answer.
Oh yeah tell him to have Benadryl at hand when doing so, maybe and Epy pen.

@MoveAlong I live in Tn, not far from Ala, as a kid we ate it in the spring of the year, we all ways called it Polk salad never knew the real name, was told it was poison ,if not cooked, we boiled it. squeezed all the water out. fried with eggs in bacon grease it will give you the runs,

@jackrabbit10 My parents and grand parents cooked it in a similar way. it was mighty good. The way I remember it is they looked for young plants that were about 10-20 inches tall. They only picked the tender new growth leaves. After the plant gets older it loses its taste and gets tough. I could be wrong but I believe only the berries are poisonous which form in mid to late summer. By then the plant is maybe 5-7 feet tall.

@Donotfolowme when I worked as a toxicologist, i often got a request that went like this: hello, I am a writer, can you tell me of a poison that could be given to a victim in the beginning of the first act, get the person sick and die by the beginning of the sevond act.
